Excellent Phone

Costing half as much as the Pixel and Pixel 2, the Nexus 5x does everything well in working as a Project Fi phone. So sorry that they've discontinued it as a Google offering, for I prefer its smaller size and weight to the others. I've read about an inadequate battery life, but have not found it son, in getting a full day's use, (yes, lighter usage than most people might do,) from a single hour and a half to two hour charge. In all, it's been great.Lire l'avis complet...

Excellent First Android

I am a long time iOS user and finally got am trying Android. I was heavily into jailbreaking on iOS, this made my switch easy as I found I had been installing tweaks that were native in Android. I love the device and the OS. A lot of reviews from tech sites said it felt cheap, but I think it looks alright, especially for the price I paid. One caveat is where the glass screen meets the plastic bezel. It is wide enough that things like dust and the random fuzzies can get stuck in there, so I see it as a slight design flaw. Overall, the Nexus 5X has been a wonderful introduction to Android.Lire l'avis complet...

Great Phone just a bit too big

I love this phone it has a very good screen and sound, and great feeling in hand.
However I gave only 4 stars as I am used also to the nexus 5 phone which was hand size much better on and the best thing was that the nexus 5 had the wireless charging were here in the 5X LG and google removed it so we would need to purchase the new USB type c cable.

WORST PHONE EVER!

Worst phone I have ever owned. First, there are too many extra steps to access menu items. Anyone who doesn't know this hasn't owned another type. From the beginning the call signal and quality was AWFUL! Almost every call that I made dropped and I had to make calls 3 and 4 times just to get through the first time. Finally, the screen had a message saying "Firm Ware" update, complete with USB in your computer. After 3 attempts, each of which failed, I gave up and decided to return the phone. Additionally, removing the back cover to access battery is EXTREMELY difficult and I had a fear of breaking it. The phone is still on and overheating. I have only owned it only 2 weeks.Lire l'avis complet...

Easy to use with a nice display

I bought this (for X-mas) for my son who is autistic as a small media player. I have downloaded a dozen or more videos that he can watch and since it has WiFi he can go to Youtube as well. Just wish the battery would last a little longer. It only went for about half a day before needing a charge. Other than that it seems to work well for him.Lire l'avis complet...

Not a bad phone for such a price

but generally it is not a very good phone. I guess because of its tiny memory (2G), this phone is responding very slowly. You can see even screen freezing when you try to switch pages. Can't believe it.

Camera: it is too sensitive to light condition, if you take a picture of a person with bright background, the camera somehow doesn't know how to give the correct exposure, so it is changing from too bright to too dark quickly.

If you can buy this phone under 300, I think it is ok to use but don't expect it to compete with iphone. though I don;t quite like iphone's OS.

Most Decently Priced Nexus Phone

I must admit that I'm a Google person hence naturally inclined to their products. I have grown from Nexus 4 to Nexus 5 to Nexus 5X and haven't regretted those upgrades. This phone, per my understanding, stands out in its being better competitively priced: for the same hardware one would pay a lot more for other brands.

Writing the detailed specs here would be a repetition but suffice to say that everything works as advertised. It got an automatic OTA seamless upgrade to Android 7 and I'm totally satisfied with its performance. The battery fast-charge bring it up to 75% (from zero) using its OEM charger in 30 mins: thereafter the charge is slower (as expected) yet completes to a 100% in another few minutes.

In brief, a very good product that I would strongly recommend.

My favorite phone since the 2013 Moto X.

I had a couple Nexus 5X's before but I wasn't happy with the battery life. At the time, I payed $350 for the 32 GB model which was okay. But when I saw that the price of the Nexus 5X went down to $229.99 ($243.79 w/ tax), I had to give it another chance. It was, at the time, the least expensive offering for the 32 GB model I could ever remember. Once I got the phone, I remembered why I loved it. The purest Android experience along with a great fingerprint sensor, camera, and predict design are just some of the reasons why I love this phone. Yes, the battery life won't blow you away, but I'm able to make it work for me with a minimum of 2 hr SOT. All in all, I love owning this phone. The newest Android phone and Android OS are right around the corner so if you'd like to conserve your money, wait for it, they seem promising. However, if you have some extra cash and you find a good deal on this device, I think it's worth a shot. You can always return it or sell it on Swappa.Lire l'avis complet...

The phone I was looking for

After using nexus 4 I was not willing to buy any other device which was not pure android. I was looking for phone which was approximately 5 inches, so this size 5.2" is ok.
Pros : Lightweight, very good screen, smooth touch, fluid experience. Battery is better and gets me through the whole day.

Cons: no SD Card, battery is better but still lasts just one day with medium use.

Great performance at the cost of battery life.

Pros :
• 4-core + 2-core processors means this device is smooth and quick.
• Coming from an older HTC phone, the update to android 8 is extremely nice and welcoming.
• Where my old phones had problems with cell reception, this phone does not!

Cons :
• Battery life is abysmal.
• 2GB of ram is lacking with today's apps taking up most/all of it. If you're using an app and have to switch to Google Messages, your current app with have to restart when you switch back. Quick reply is seemingly the only way around this and I'd love this phone with 4GB of ram at a minimum.

Overall :
Great phone if you can have it plugged in all the time.
