great crane

this was a very fun kit to build really enjoyed building it and also using it. it has provided several hours of enjoyment.
I would make a suggest that instead of tieing the line for the boom off to a post I would make the drum be two drums instead of one and have the line run back down to the drum this way when you boom up/down the force is being pulled on evenly. Along with this I would also suggest added more line to the boom cable and also to the hoist line along with giving a actual hook for the crane.

Substantial toy

We gave this to my 8 yr old for Christmas; it took him a total of ~10hrs to put it together unassisted. Instructions are excellent and resulted in a very impressive toy. It doesn't move very fast but the gearing provides adequate torque to lift quite a bit of weight in the jaws. One of the best Technic sets ever made!

I have put this set together five times now. Finally decided I wanted to keep one together to play with. I have the set together on a table now The power functions are so well done and it looks good.<br>
The crane pivots, goes up and down, and forward and back. It doesn't lift a ton of weight, but it is so much fun to play with. The claw is installed backwards on the pictures.Lire l'avis complet

Big build

This build is big and taller than it appears in photos. I found its even strong enough to lift a 16.9 fl oz water bottle as long as you hold the back end of the crane down, very impressive. Love it.
