Condition of book was like new_not what I expected, subject matter was of little interest to me but since I really like the author thought to give it a try. I was not the least bit disappointed. I have read most of his books by now and look forward to reading all of them.Lire l'avis complet

Thorugh discussion of major U.S. disaster.

Actually it is what I would expect from this author. I does lay out the background to the disaster very thoroughly. Perhaps more thoroughly than I would like.

Being from Western Pennsylvania I always knew of the Flood, but never realized the real scope and impact it had on the country at that time. The description of the destruction of Johnstown is staggering and moving and yet it was David McCullough's first book.Lire l'avis complet
