Cool, for what is is...
Was in the market for this CD for 1 particular song, the one that was the theme song for "True Blood" series, otherwise it's not really an artist I'd choose to listen to. He's a great artist, talented and all, but I'm just not typically fond of this genre of music.
Plus this item was WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY over-priced, lol!!!
For 1 song especially, but that's my problem for paying it, I'm sure the seller would have taken a million dollars had it been offered, lol!!!Lire l'avis complet...
A Hidden Talent
True, I bought the CD for the 'True Blood' theme, Bad Things, but Jace Everett is an extremely talented man. The songs are well written. His voice is low, mellow, and the timbre is... well, wow. The CD is classified as country, and while it does have country influences there is also blues and Louisiana style reverberations. If you can get this CD, do it! It's out of print, but it can be found. Hopefully, Jace Everett will continue to put out music.Lire l'avis complet...
Easy listening
Love this guys voice, always great to listen to, it isn't like over the top country. But a great soul like country loved it. More mellow listening

Jace Everett
We bought the CD because of one song on it -- Bad Things -- which is used as the opening theme songs for the HBO Series "True Blood". I teach guitar and my students wanted to learn Bad Things. So, I bought the CD, learned the song and taught it to my students (that wanted to learn it). Jace Everett is a very talented singer and song writer. Although he only wrote a couple of the songs on this CD. He did write "Bad Things" and for that he should be enshrined in every music hall of fame that there is!
Sincerely,

putting things together
Great background work-- too MUCH background work, overpowering the central theme, twanging and banging away and preventing the song from coming through, and underwritten songs, good music but in most cases there is only a half hearted attempt to tell the story.
A couple songs stand out for having the story-- but they still have too much background and "fancy production" piled on top of it, smothering the song.Lire l'avis complet...
great cd
I bought this for the "Wanna Do Bad things" song from The Trublood series. It has turned into one of my favorite cds. I originally looked at the Trublood sound track but this particular cd caught my ear and I am glad it did, there is not one bad song on it. has a sort of Cajun/Country twist that I particularly like.Lire l'avis complet...
