Outstanding

First off I want to get a couple of things out of the way before I start this review and also tell you a short story.

I have been playing guitar and buying gear for about 30 years now. I have also learned through those years never to judge any piece of gear by what I paid for it whether it was $40 or $4,000.

About 20 years ago I was on a gig playing through my Marshall jcm 800 with matching cabinet and it died on me. Lucky for me a friend of mine was at the gig and he had his crate vintage club 60 in his car and let me borrow it to finish the gig out.

I was completely blown away by the tone and feel of that amp and now own three of them.

Now for the review of this pedal..

I have been using it constantly since I bought it to the front of an amp through the effects Loop of an amp and directly to mixer.

Not only are the tones outstanding but it has a very organic feel to it tonesreacts to volume knob adjustments on My Guitar.

Before this I bought an rk5 for $269. As far as straight-up Tones go this $40 pedal blows it away. Bear in mind I am a rhythm guitar player that plays mostly classic Hard Rock. So although you could get classic metal out of this pedal it does get noisy on super high gain settings, this pedal is geared more towards Blues to Hard Rock. The Voice knob is where the magic happens on this pedal. Not only is it an EQ but it also gives you more or less gain.

This pedal also cleans up well with your guitar volume. I know this pedal is shooting for the Marshall sound but I think it's got its own thing going on but that thing is superb.

I would not hesitate to grab this and a clip-on tuner for a gig and call it a night.

I know it is just a imitation of tech 21 gear but I personally find it Superior to the Tech21 stuff I have owned.

Lastly the fact that I paid $40 for this pedal has me giggling like a schoolgirl.

Awesome

This is the second Joyo pedal I own in this series, the first one I bought was the Joyo American. I can say that you cant really go wrong with any one of these pedals you buy. If you have a so so solid state amp these pedals will really upgrade the sound without emptying the bank account. So far the Joyo American is my favorite, it really emulates the Fender sound perfectly to my ears. Now this British pedal comes very close to the Marshall sound, I am quite enjoying it. I will probably buy the California sound also as I dont want to break the bank and buy a Mesa Boogie amp, looks like an Xmas present I should float around to the wife.

Dont be afraid to buy, well worth the cost and the two freebie cables that were included was a bonus in my eyes. They were good quality, so what are you waiting for? Get yourself one of these pedals.

Joyo British Sound Guitar Pedal

Being a preamp and an "amp simulator", it is a great solution to having a cost-effective and high quality sounding base-tone for your electric setup. Keep in mind I am only talking about using it on clean setting, I do not use it on high gain distortion. I can plug in the British Sound direct to front-of-house into a d.i. box or straight into a guitar amp, preferably into a preamp in/return input, but plugging into a regular input is fine. You will get a beautiful, tube-like clean tone- consistent and reliable and super easy to use. And it works great on bass, too. Seriously, a pedal this good for under $40.00, it makes my cheap electric guitar sound much better than it would sound without the British Sound, especially having the ability to adjust the pedal's 3 band EQ and it's Voice knob. And seriously don't worry about the British Sound being a clone of a much more expensive pedal. The Joyo British Sound will justify itself the moment you plug it in and find your ideal tone!Lire l'avis complet...

Good unit

Bought this one and the American and they both great. I personally like the American but that is the style of amp I prefer. Bought the British just to mess with and see if there was something I liked. I did but needed a few other pedals to accomplish it. It's all taste anyway. Just like some blah blah blah about tube amps. I have a bunch and prefer my fender 25r with a mic over all of them or just run direct to the p.a. Nobody has ever told me they could tell the difference except a smug know it all. Just my take.Lire l'avis complet...

British amp simulator!

Actually this comes very close to the real thing. I am running on a solid state amp and sounds fantastic. Item would sound even better tbrought a tube amplifier. I really like the option of the voice and distortion together with the three band eq. Adjustable to my liking. Lire l'avis complet...

The best!

Oh my... Where has this amazing lil box all this time? Offers too much for its cost. Works great, as clean booster, as a overdrive, as an amp (did I mention analog?)Simulator. Amazing sound conected to PA with behringer Ultra G direct box with 4x12 sim. Lire l'avis complet...

Has many a Marshall sounds

The voice control takes it from Plexi/Bluesbreaker to 800 and modern. Can get a bit noisy on certain settings, but is easily controlled and not a deal breaker in any way. Just has hi-gain potential.

This one delivers the tone as promised!

Works just as it is described. Makes all the sounds of Marshall amps and absolutely can run direct to recorder or PA without an amp and sounds like an amp just as it should.
I love it.

unbelievable value! Built like a tank, tons of tonal variation.
You can run into headphones or direct into a computer or mixer.
I don't even need an amp!
