i7-3540m Laptop Upgrade
This is the fastest processor that HP installed 8470p Elitebook (there's is a "w" model with different specs). There is an error in the HP service manual for the 8470p describing the CPU as quad core, but the CPU is only dual core. A great upgrade
Bought this product to replace my old and slow i3-3310M and it works FLAWLESSLY!! Everything is much faster now and now my laptop is capable of some light gaming, which I thought it would have not possible.

Highly Valuable in 2018
The 3840 is a solid processor - competitive to many modern CPUs, even in Q2 2018. It’s not as power efficient, but, many computers that run this lithography (especially by Lenovo - T430, T530) don’t suffer throttling that affects performance, thermal or otherwise. Excellent laptop upgrade
Bought it to replace my i3 laptop (Toshiba C855 series) CPU. It's fairly easy to put place and perform much better than the i3.

I was using this CPU to uprgrade an exsisting one in a Sony Vaio SVE1511HFXW laptop. It came originally with an i5-2540M with HD Graphics 3000. This one is an exact fit.
