Warhammer 40K Imperial Guard action

Most writers of Warhammer 40K military fiction model their units, whether Guard or Space Marine, on historical cultures. For Richard Williams, its the late nineteenth-century British Army. Stiff upper lips, class divisions, playing the game, the whole works only with the added 40K ingredients of psychopathic commissars and endless waves of feral orks.
