Needs Fetteling
As is the case for all planes in this price range the tool requires considerable fetteling before it is ready for use. Out of the package it will destroy any but the roughest construction and will fight you like crazy the whole time.
The sole needs to be flattened as does the back of the cutting iron. The sliding parts need to smoothed. The edges of the plane need to be eased so as not to cut your hand or mar the work. The blade needs to be sharpened to a razor edge.
Once all this is done the plane is much easier to adjust and use and will leave a finished surface ready for paint, stain or varnish.
Please Note: The plane does not have a lateral adjustment for the iron which must be done by tapping the blade or loosening the cap iron and moving the blade into position with your fingers.Lire l'avis complet...
