Far better than expected!

I bought my Mojo Diamond after listening to several different versions of Hotone amps on YouTube, so I decided to give it a go and buy one. I bought mine from that other place that starts with an R, and got an extremely good deal at half the price of brand new. The plus was that it looked brand new when I got it. I’ve been running it through a 112; the speaker being a Celestion cream back 16 ohm and I use the volume at about 1/4 and that’s loud enough which is surprisingly loud, but not over the top. The speaker out is capable at 4, 8 or 16 ohms speakers. I’ve been using the effects loop with a reverb digital delay because it does not have reverb built-in and it sounds great. I honestly didn’t realize that when I was buying it, the Moto Diamond was an emulation of the 50s fender tweed amplifiers and I am amazed at how close the sound actually is. To give it a little extra crunch or gain, I use an OCD and it’s absolutely perfect and sounds like a very good tube amp. For practicing in a small room or taking it with me to jam with a friend is super convenient, so I couldn’t be happier with it. Highly recommend.Lire l'avis complet...

Still can't believe it!!!

O.K., been a "tube" guy for many years. So one day I needed a small portable amp that I could take with me and not leave behind. After a LOT of looking, listening, and researching I came across this little guy. Seemed O.K., sounded pretty good on the "tube", and the price was definitely right. So never hearing one in person I pulled the trigger. The E-Bay seller was GREAT and it came very fast. Hooked everything up and guess what...I was REAL MAD..... for not having one sooner!! It is still hard for my ears to believe the tone I can get out of this teeny tiny amp!!! It's almost unbelievable! Huge sound out of a little box!! Who said ya can't take it with ya?? And they come in different "flavors" according to your musical taste. I'm sold on the Fender tweed tone and this little killer really delivers. Nuff said!!! Lire l'avis complet...

you could spend more and get less, but not the other way around!

this is my 3rd model of a Hotone amp. I have yet another to go and i’ll be a content man. while this is not the best amp you will ever buy, and it does take a bit to get the tones just right, for the money you cannot beat what you get. now i don’t think that i would rely on this and a cabinet to play a show with a band, however a solo player, a quieter rehearsal session or a home user will find this more than sufficient. want another option for your DAW other than a digital amp clone, this works great. with the fx loop and an 1/8 inch to 1/4 cable you should be able to go “line in” to any i/o in front of your DAW; throw on a cab simulator and some eq and verb and you’re all set. not a huge amount of headroom, certainly not my main amp, but i would consider taking this to gigs as a back up should your main amp peter out on you. a quick line to the board and some volume in your monitors and you will certainly be able to finish the gig, and likely no one would realise that it’s from an amp about the size of a hearty piece of lasagna. i recommend this, ‘nuf said.

Gigantic Sound in a Small Package!

I have used this tiny amp to drive a 4/12 290 watt cabinet! The sound is outstanding and the fact that I can integrate it into my pedal board and run my effect through the effects loop makes this a truly versatile compact power house that I can run wide open!Lire l'avis complet...

Hotone Diamond...got the MOJO or not?

Well... I finally broke down and bought one of these things for my studio to record some "Fender-ish" guitar parts at decent volumes.

After all... I saw You Tube... those Videos don't lie...? Do they?

Well lets just say.... it isn't as good as real Deluxe Reverb or the like, but it has some good uses.

It does not react like a tube amp dynamically, but so many people squash the dynamics when recording, I did not see that as a real issue.
If I were playing live with it I probably would not feel satisfied.

I found the higher levels of distortion to have some very unpleasant fizzy and ringing artifacts that just would not do.

Using a good ribbon mic in front of the different Cabinets helped... but it was still too horrid.

The "Clean" sound... really, really workable.

In the end I experimented using a Liquid Blues tube pedal and a Holy Grail reverb and I got some really nice tracks. It seems the MOJO came to life with good pedals, so my suggestion is to use this as a platform for your pedals.

I have not tried recording straight off the unit yet...That is next.

Top notch at this price point

I’ve got the Mojo Diamond and Siva Boogie with the Freeze B and British Invasion on the way.

Running the power amp out (out to speaker) into an 8” 8ohm speaker cabinet will have you cranking the volume to get to bedroom levels.

Using the effects loop send (bypassing the power amp) into the return of an Orange 35RT sounds awesome with both the Mojo and the Siva.

The preamp sections are worth the price of admission alone.

Headphone out is great for play/practice without additional gear. I have yet to try with a cabsim or IR between.

I can’t comment on how they compare to the amps they are based on, but they have great tone by themselves.

They don’t have the character of the MV50’s, but at 1/5th the price, expectations should be easily managed.

Very cool pieces of gear. Fantastic build quality that looks/feels built to last. The eq peaks are selected well, and band widths lend themselves well to crunch with little coaxing. Great product.

Best suited to bedroom playing but they can really wail witj more complex routing. I suspect they will record well. These really accentuate tonal differences between humbucker and single coil pickups. Given the size/footprint, just using the preamp section into a power amp and cab of your choice (or the effects return of your combo) makes these a great tool to add tons of tonal variety with minimal investment.

I have not tried the higher gain nanos, but I expect they are equally well done. The Siva and Mojo are very different with each having minimal overlap and significant extension in tonal range.

Top notch at this price point or twice

Best of the bunch.

I have purchased 4 different Nano Legacy amps. This one is the most versatile. The Captain Sunset is all OD, there are no cleans, same with the Vulcan 5-0. Conversely, the Siva Boogie is the Ultimate clean amp.
This one dirtys up nicely, but still will produce great clean tones.
Is it a "true" Fender Tweed sound? Honestly, no. It's also not a thousand dollars.

Buy one!

Nice Practice Amp That Lets You Use Your Own Speaker

Nice practice amp for picking. For chord strumming it is fair, needs pedals which is easy with the send/return here! Small enough to stow away, sounds as good as a larger Marshall at lower volumes and while picking. And it won't bother bad neighbors.Lire l'avis complet...

Great little amp

I think this little amp does a great job of producing "tube clean" tones reminiscent of the old Fender tube amps -- especially at this price point and about the size of a stomp box. One huge thing it has over the Champ and Princeton is the mids in the tone stack. The tone controls are useful all the way up and down. Super quiet as well.Lire l'avis complet...

Amazing little amp!

It's small, sounds good, and is loaded with the features you don't even see on thousand dollar heads. The sound is great for such an inexpensive and tiny amp. I find that the flexibility of the EQ dials really broadens the sounds you can get with it. It excels in home recording which is what I use it for and for headphone practice. A really unique product. Instead of an effects pedal for this price you get a real amp. Good job.Lire l'avis complet...
