The Rolling Stones rock group is like a pair of old shoes...They are just too comfortable to throw out. I never liked the Stones back in the 1960's. They were the first to NOT dress alike when performing, and actually made the Beatles look good by comparison. They personified the outragious lifestyle. Everything was to excess...booze...drugs...girls (remember Marianne Faithful)?
The Stones and I have grown old together, and now I have discovered a fondness for the group's music.
The album "Hot Rocks" is all about the early years of the Rolling Stones.
They have smoothed out their image and become commercial in more recent years.
Maybe that is why I wanted the "Hot Rocks" album. It has all the hits that brought the Stones to the attention of the world. "Time Is On My Side","As Tears Go By","Paint It Black","Street Fighting Man" and "Mother's Little Helper" are just a few of the great songs on this album. Actually EVERY Stones hit from 1964 thru 1971 is on this double album. "Satisfaction" and "Get Off My Cloud" always bring back memories for this Vietnam Veteran. The Rolling Stones...You either love them or hate them, but they are one of the most enduring of all rock groups..and this album lets the younger generation discover what got the group rolling..
