Another Saturday spent in my neighborhood movie house

Horrors of the Black Museum is a 1959 British Horror film starring Michael Gough who starred in numerous British Horror movies in the 1950’s – 1960’s, and is most famous for playing Alfred in several Batman movies.
While definitely a “B” movie, it was released in color and CinemaScope , which was a bit unusual for Bs of the period. Gough is murder writer Edmond Bancroft who annoys and taunts Scotland Yard when a series of gruesome murders remain unsolved. Probably the most famous scene is the Binocular murder – you’ll spend the rest of your life double checking a pair of binoculars before you use them!
The American release adds a hypnotism prologue where a “British” psychiatrist demonstrates hypnotism to the movie audience. Surprisingly, the British psychiatrist speaks without the slightest hint of a British accent!
Sure, it’s predictable and contrived, you’ll certainly figure out who the murderer is before Scotland Yard does, but it is a fun movie to watch.
The print this particular DVD was taken from seems a bit worn at times, there might be better DVD versions available.Lire l'avis complet...

Horror fun at the show on a Saturday for a kid so young

As very young kid on a Saturday, go show to see double feature for 20 cent and I saw Horrors of The Black Museum and it fun to watch and just alittle scary to kid like me. Now as a older young, I love see those movies again and again. Memories back with big smile on my face. Lire l'avis complet...
