The Junkiest Tech Item I've Ever Paid 500.00 For!

I bought this camera two years ago at the birth of our second son only to be disappointed with the money and time I wasted. I bought this dvdcam brand new from BEST BUY for around $500.00 after taxes. Terrible. By appearance, you would expect this model to meet all your high expectations. It's small, sleek and convenient for the overstuffed home. With Dolbys endorsment, I could only expect the best but instead got junk. The cam takes AWFUL night video, you'll be lucky to see anything at all unless you are filming outside in direct sunlight. You cannot film/take stills anywhere there isn't FULLY bright lighting. There is no sort of flash/night option. Videos are often grainy and pixelated. There can be absolutely no movement in any of the stills or your full picture will be blurry, regardless of what you are snapping. The sports setting for movement is a joke, clearly not what "sports" photo setting should be. The battery life on these is only 30 minutes tops, but I've found taking stills depletes the battery in half the time. I take good care of my technology and after two months the disc door quit opening, you have to pull the door manually which is quite the hassle. Hitachi DZ GX5020A Ultra Vision

I was new to the mini DVD's but I really like this camcorder. The zoom is amazing, and you can delete and rewrite to the disks. I get about 30 minutes of video on a disk, which could be better, but I think it's better than having 6 hours on a disk, and then trying to find what you want to see. Home videos get boring if they're too long anyway. The battery only last about 30 minutes too, which is a little short. small light weight camera

I purchased this camera because I thought it used normal sized discs, but found out that it uses the mini dvds, which turns out I like because I don't have to use up a regular disc and I can tape different subjects by switching the disc. Great little camcorder for a great little price

OK first of all I am not an instructions reader so I play with all the buttons and adjustments without fear. This is an awesome little camcorder it has all the bells and whistles that I need for the light recording that I do. I have an iphone and a digital camera that I can record video with but I also wanted something with an excellent zoom ability and I got that. At first I was a little hesitant about the mini DVD but that is not an issue, it's just what you get used to. I love the size it's small but a great size to travel. I have no regrets about this purchase at all. I don't use it very often but it does what I need it to do. I'm not into all this digital zoom because I find the picture pixelates too much so optical zoom is for me. I also received lots of extras with the camcorder so I am 100% satisfied with my purchase. Great quality but limited battery and capacity

It gives great quality- a lot better than what I've seen around. The limitation is the battery. It does not last long. Always carry a spare (or two) battery. The other limitation is the medium- dvd. You are limited only to half an hour. You can buy double sided but you have to manually flip it. But for the price and quality- you can't beat it! One of the easiest to use camcorders I've used in my life. The parts are very sleek and high quality unlike some camcorders I've used by JVC where pieces snap and latches are broken. This is a strong durable camera that takes excellent videos. The setting choices have made a huge difference on quality of the situation you are in. I wanted to buy a camera for my holiday and for special moments!
I don't know a lot about cameras and i found that this camera is right for me.
but as i use it i found some disadvantages
the first is that the camera is not having good video at night
and the second is that it cann't connect to a pc!!
from the other hand is very easy to learning it and is very small!!!
