Swords and Kilts

I only had a VHS version of the film which was poor quality. The disc is cleaner with better sound and some nice features. I like this movie. It's a guilty pleasure of mine. The director's cut adds a few minutes of extra film that was on the cutting room floor. Some I can see why it was cut, but one scene helps fill in a reference that is used in the theatrical release. "It's a kind of magic" now makes sense. Plus , you understand more of the relationship between Conner and his "secretary". The commentary is interesting and I enjoyed the insights it gave. Could have had more features

The movie is a good movie. The director's cut makes it better because it includes scenes that were not in the USA release of the film. These scenes greatly enhance your understanding of the whole story and answered a couple of questions I have had since first seeing the movie back in the 80's.
The special features leave a lot to be desired. There aren't many and you couldn't access them very easily. One section, when selected, shot by in a montage that was in super fast forward. You had to try to return to the beginning of the section and then move forward frame by frame in order to read the pages and view the pictures.

A Disappointment

I watched the movie when it first came out and thought that it was pretty good. Stopped watching TV, so giving some of the old movies a rerun. After thirty-one years, the movie isn't so good. A weak story line and bland characters. Even the action scenes are second rate. Guys who have been fighting for their lives for centuries should have been able to provide better sword fights. All in all, mediocre/three-stars at best. I docked this DVD version a star because of extremely poor sound quality. I played the DVD on both a computer and a DVD player and much of the sound for movie is barely audible. A major disappointment.Lire l'avis complet...

super Christopher Lambert

Highlander, Es kann nur einen geben mit Christopher Lambert als Connor MacLeod .Zeitreise eines Unsterblichen durch die Vergangenheit und Gegenwart.Rückendeckung bekommt der phantastische Film mit der unvergessenen Musik von Queen.Princes of the Universe, A Kind of Magic und Who Wants to Live Forever passen sinngemäß in den Film. Der Film lebt zu einem großen Teil von dem Wechsel zwischen Rückblick und Gegenwarts-Handlung ( Flashbacks) und bringen die gesamte Geschichte Schritt für Schritt dem Zuschauer näher. Highlander is a really good movie and at these prices and quality I will always look here before I buy.

Ordered from here several times before. I love it. It's good quality, easy to order and usually comes early.

Better

Since I first saw the movie back in the eighties, I loved it. I thought the story was original and the acting, especially by Connery, was very impressive. The problem that I had, small though it was, was that there were some questions that the movie seemed to have forgotten or had been deleted. I bought this mostly because my old version was a little worn. I am really glad that I did. The special features weren't all that great but the addition of some content more than made up for it and answered most of the questions that I have had for a long time. If you liked, or ever saw, the original this is definetly worth the buy.Lire l'avis complet...

Incredible

C. Lambert is one of the most cool feared and admired actors ever
Too bad he wasn't an action star of today he would've been even more incredible
