Great mic but not for all vocalists

This is a very serious microphone with great sound BUT... it's not for every voice. Some people love a mic that's totally transparent and if that's what you're after, then this is your mic. 100% transparent. You sound like YOU. However, I prefer a mic with more dynamics. I use an EV 767 because it has a better mid range and a lot more treble frequencies. It doesn't sound as wide and big as the Heil but that doesn't really bother me because I prefer the frequencies the EV. It suits my voice really well. One thing for certain is that this mic sounds best for female vocalists or men with high screaming voices like James Brown or Axl Rose. I'm not a fan of this mic for Baritones. Superior to other recommended standards (Shure, Sennheiser, Telefunken, MXL)

Three way adjustable first rate mic. Great for vocals. Outperforms several Shures, MXL's, Sennheiser and M80 Telefunken. Our church has been sampling mic's recommended by users across a number of online sites. The Heil PR35 proved to be a clearly superior sound and the mic of choice. If you don't own this Mic you don't have the best the Industry has to offer

I have been a professional performing musician and recording artist for 40 years, and I have used a lot of good and marginal equipment. For all of us that do this for a living, we know the value of gear that really does the job and makes you shine. I have used all the brand names, and they are quality products to be sure, but the Heil PR 35 is the most superior vocal mic I have ever used, especially in price to performance. As more performers become aware of this mic, I believe it will become their No.1 microphone of choice! Not only is this superior in the studio for crystal clear and commanding vocals, it can not be touched in live performance. Heil has done a masterful job with this product. Best dynamic vocal mic in the biz

Bob Heil is awesome and his mics are amazing. The PR35 is used by Thom Yorke on stage (RadioHead). Need I say more? Did not think so. Forget the SM7 or RE20. Let the radio people use those. If you are a vocalist/singer recording in a less than flattering audio environment (pretty much all of us unless you are Diddy) do yourself a favor and buy a PR35. Best dynamic vocal mic on the planet. Period.

Yeah I know, you own a SM7, RE20 and MD421. Me too and the PR35 is by far my favorite! It sounds big, requires little gain (which introduces less noise) and features the best feedback rejection I have ever experienced. You can use it in the studio, live on stage, handheld, on a stand, in front of studio monitors, does not not matter where and how... it just rocks! One of the great transparent pro mics. Okay, go get one, now.

I bought one of these a few years back and sold it because I have other mics I preferred for singing louder but am happy to have another which I just bought last month. Tonight was actually only the second gig I've used it on, but I'm really enjoying it.

Sounds fabulous and rugged

In my humble opinion, this is the best sounding mic for live vocals out there. Large diaphragm like a studio mic, low sensitivity so you can open a bunch of them up on stage, and dynamic for ruggedness. Everyone I use them on comments how good they sound. Heil PR-35 Microphone

I purchased the Heil PR-35 after researching a new mic to use live for several months. Up to now I have been using the Shure SM58, but I have a softer low voice and needed a mic that would pick up my voice and clearly project it. After having now had the opportunity to use the PR-35 for a couple of gigs I am extremely pleased with it's performance over the SM58. I found it to be crisp and very clear allowing ease at hearing myself while singing and performing and very powerful when I needed to step into the front of the mix. It is well worth the investment..
