I was super excited to gift this to my daughter, but I’m not very impressed. The hat does work, but not well. You can barely hear the various sayings over the sound of gears/motor running and clicking noises. It sounds like it’s on its last leg for sure. Probably worth it if you're a Potter fan.

Looks nice. Only mouth moves. Limited number but good choice of audio proclamations made by the hat. Voice quality and volume is acceptable but probably not as good as you get from similar toys. Review of Sorting Hat

I expected it to say more than put it on your head and I will tell you what house you are in. This is way over priced for all it does. It would have been nice if it named a house you were in.

Nice but not the best

The only problem is that it is kind of hard to put it on... Nevertheless, it's a nice collectible from the saga.
