Wonderful Coming of Age Story!
I don’t particularly like the tag line “awesome sauce” and hope you change it, but I do love this book. A tree grows in Brooklyn tells a very real story of a family, financially poor, but rich in love and in character. Betty Smith addresses many of the difficult and at times harsh realities of managing a family and growing up poor. She is a phenomenal writer and I recommend that everyone who likes to read put this book on their 100 most important books to read before you can no longer do so. The copy of the book I purchased was in terrific condition.Lire l'avis complet...
Best read in years
Truly a great American novel. The best account I have ever read of life as a immigrant in New York circa world War 1.
