Good, but...

This product fits the calculator nicely, but is not as nice as the original padded cases of the hp 48g series.

HP 48G

I bought a used HP48G to supplement my HP28S. The 48G is faster than the 28S and can be repaired by an independent online service if it fails. The 28S is not repairable. The 48G is used at work (engineering) as I still prefer to work from a paper notebook using a calculator.

There is a wealth of application info for the 48 series on the web and the purchase price was reasonable (less than $70).

In the past Ive always wanted a 48G but could not justify the price given that the 28S met my needs. Now the price was right and I am very happy with my new(used) calculator.Lire l'avis complet...

512 Mem. Card (TDS)

Works good with my TDS program. Is the card really a 512 ? It only holds a little over 5000 points. That is okay with the small surveying jobs I am performing.

Also is the battery in the card new ?

Loaded with tons of capability. Extremely well built. Wish I knew about this great calculator years ago.

HP 48G Calculator

It does everything the newer models do, but the build quality is WAY HIGHER! Yes it is slower than the lastest calculators, but so what. I actually love the fact that it has a 4 mhz cpu, because the new calculators chew up batteries in a couple of hours, this can run for months on a good set.

RPN is a bit different, but even a math moron like me can see it's virtues. Just be sure to buy a paper manual with your calculator. you're going to need it.

HP 48GX Graphic Calculator: An old Friend

I recently and forutnately won the bid for a replacement HP 48GX Calculator. I misplaced the unit I owned for approximately 12 years. After purchasing a newer TI unit, I found myself having to practicaly learn a new concept. While simoultaneously attending a Differential Equations course at school, I just did have the necessary time to learn a new machine. Upon, reaching a peak of frustration, I decided to search for a replacement. I found one here on eBay, bid on it, and won it. I understand the functions of the HP and became the proverbial "creature of habit". I now have and am in full use of the HP for my courses. Best calculator ever: HP 48 GX.

Still the best calculator ever built. HP 50g is more powerful but HP 48 GX is better built. Singapore models have the best keyboard and those from Indonesia have better black LCDs. But the huge quantity and quality programs still available thanks great guys at hpcalc, area48, hpmuseum and so many other sites maintained around the world make this calculator the best.
