Great Value Tablet for the Money
For starters, no this is not an iPad. I am so over Apple products so it does not matter to me. This is a good reliable tablet PC for the money. With QuickOffice, I can create and edit Word documents and take notes at school, surf the web over Wi-Fi, set up reminders on the handy factory-installed calendar, and read my books with the Kindle App. These things are the reason I bought the Touchpad and it has served me well thus far. The battery life beats the hell out of a laptop. I get 9-10 hrs. per charge, and that is with average wi-fi and document creation use. Overall, it is a good product for the money, and I wish HP would take WebOS back to the drawing board and bring us more quality gadgets such as the Touchpad.Lire l'avis complet...
Good unit . Not flawless but worth the money for a handy little tablet.
Hp is no longer selling these tablets. However they do still support the unit. They work fairly well for the most part.
With the latest update installed you get camera software.
The wireless works flawlessly. Browser could use some work(it seems to have a problem with Hotmail). Not nearly as many apps for WebOs as there is for Android. But WebOs does have nice features. No way to expand the onboard Memory above 16gigs as there's no SD or micro sd slot. Does have mini usb for charging/docking. The onboard camera does take fairly clear pics, but don't mistake it for a good digital camera.
All in all it's a good unit. Easy to take along. Surfing the net reading a book, or just showing off the latest pictures of your kids. It's a capable unit.Lire l'avis complet...
Cool device, great price, awesome value, get one if you can find one!
I've had the iPad and still own a Galaxy Tablet, but for the price I figured I couldn't lose with the Touchpad. Of course there's nowhere near the apps available for Web Os as there are for the iPad and Droid devices, but this thing is great. I use it more for email, social networking and reading books. So this is a steal of a deal. I've increased the speed and responsiveness and am finding that there are a lot of benefits to owning this device and many other things you can do with it. Also the HP folks are working on creating more apps because they still have Web Os cell phones being produced. I have a cell phone with hotspot capabilities, so I can use my Touchpad anywhere I can get WiFi or get a signal with my phone. My only complaints are, its a bit heavy, and they're not many accessories available, and some of the accessories that are available ie., Bluetooth keyboard, are too expensive for a device that's not made anymore, ($129.00 for the keyboard docking package), the Touchpads were selling for $99 bucks! Better OS than Android. A poor man's iPad.
The Touchpad is now a great bargain tablet. The new price makes up for the fact that this tablet will likely receive little to no support in the future. Apps are scarce but there seems to be a nice little homebrew community growing. If you only care about browsing the web, email, social networking, etc. This tablet is more than enough. I will recommend you install Preware. All it takes is 5 minutes in google to learn how to do it. I'll smooth out a few of the rough edges you'll find with the stock OS.
I own an iPad and an Android tablet running Honeycomb as well. WebOS is far better thought out and constructed than Android. It's right on par with iOS. In fact, if it had the selection of apps that iOS has, I would prefer using this exclusively. I haven't used the android tablet once since I got this. Kind of makes me wonder why people are wasting their time trying to port android over to it. They should concentrate on making apps for this.Lire l'avis complet...
good serviceable device for basic email, web access, and document access
well, I would start by saying, it is not an iPad. I don't mean that in a bad way or good way....it just isn't. Right now, the app selection is minimal, speed and functionality is good, comparable to an iPad, and the look and feel is very comparable. My wife has an iPad, and she can do way more things with her iPad. However, I only needed a tablet to access email, the web and documents/presentations. I can do all of this, including access docs. The bonus with the Touchpad is that it can be plugged into my PC and used as a flash drive.

by far the best tablet for the price.
I bought this tablet simply because it was so cheap for a tablet with a spec sheet as impressive as the HP touchpad has. The screen looks amazing and is very sensitive to touches. The battery life is outstanding. I can use it for 9 hours or more watching videos and having multiple tabs open without much trouble. Webos is as great an operating system as I've always heard it was. Multitasking is amazing. I've had friends over and showed hem how you could have a song playing on YouTube while your surfing the internet or using at application. Webos is as simple to use as ios but as fun to use as android.
the things I don't like about the touchpad is the slow response time to normal tasks like selecting and correcting text. You would think with a dual core 1.2 GHz snapdragon inside the touchpad would have incredibly fast response times. But it doesn't. Another problem I had was the app selection. If your trying not to pay for apps you don't have many options.
if you asked me if you should have gotten an HP touchpad when it was $500 I would have said no. But at 100 in stores or 200 on ebay this tablet is by far the best for the price.Lire l'avis complet...
Great for the price, but maybe not what you expect or need.
I have used tablet computers for years and decided to try a tablet pad device. I bought this particular brand because of the low price and fair reviews.
The Touchpad works well, but the manuals were a shocking disappointment. Small flimsy and minimal scraps of paper with little information. I've seen toasters with better documentation.
The selection of apps is limited as expected, but the ones I have tried work well, and it makes a wonderful ebook reader. The screen is bright and easy to work with. The battery life is excellent.
It may still be too early to buy a tablet pad.
Without better software tablet pads will continue to be high tech toys. Big unwieldly smartphones.
My suggestion, if you like tablets, read a lot of ebooks, or want something portable to surf the web on, and can get a Touchpad for a low price, buy one. Otherwise wait for the next good deal.Lire l'avis complet...
HP Touchpad iPad
The main reason I bought this HP Touchpad is because....I wanted it. The fact that I didn't have one irritated me so i finally bought one. Honestly I haven't used it as much as I thought I would since purchasing it three weeks ago but when I do use it I have no problems with it. Highly satisfied with it.
The HP Touchpad has a beautiful screen and its size is the same as an iPad. It also has Beats Audio which makes a difference sometimes especially when you plug it into a speaker. I'd say it gives the sound 10-15% boost in overall sound.
The on screen keyboard is very responsive I haven't experienced any lagging when using it so far. The camera is also pretty good. If you are deciding between purchasing this or an iPad most defiantly go with this. If you want a tablet for casual use & don't really want to spend too much money then get this. The HP Touchpad is equal to the iPad in almost every way- except for the fact the the iPad is still in production. Its quite the machine for about 200 bucks! Sure, app support is an issue but its best for those who are going to do just the following:
1. Watch Videos
2. View Pictures
3. Emails
4. Web Browsing
5. Texts

Cant really take pictures though and apps are extremely limited.
However, the android release will make it one of the best tablets around except for the only front facing low-res camera.
Still for casual users, this is the best thing ever.
Really good for college students and those who want a simple REALLY PORTABLE multimedia tool.

A good buy even at $200
Well worth it even if you only use it as an eReader. After all, a Nook Color is at least $250, and the HP TouchPad does so much more.
The *only* can I have about the product is that it does *not* have a microSD slot. You are limited to whatever storage the device has (16GB or 32GB) with no memory expansion.
Most of the eBay entries seem to have

in them, but this is not accurate. I was aware of this prior to buying my TouchPad so it was not a problem for me.
