Review of HP iPAQ Pocket PC hx2415
I love the HP iPAQ. It's a good product. It's easy to find most things and customize most things. The WiFi is easy to use. Everything is pretty straightforward. The Windows Mobile is more robust than the Palm operating system. Like most HP products, the iPAQ is well adapted to Windows Mobile. I can't comment on e-mail capabilities or Bluetooth because I don't use them. On the down side, Microsoft ActiveSync leaves ALOT to be desired. It is the fussiest piece of software ever. The error messages are cryptic. It's easier to uninstall and reinstall than to change the configuration once it is set. If I were not a fairly competent computer user, I would have done something drastic. On the whole the iPAQ hx2400 series is a great deal.Lire l'avis complet...
Quality PDA
Whats not to like! An occasional soft reset but thats about it.
I use on the road with GPS software, on the golf course, with golf software, at work and as contact
list. Holds photos and has all the basic programs. The only other thing that could be better is not having to go to running program list and shut down program after using.
Wi fi , bluetooth , sd , and cf slots all in a nice case with a protective clear cover. Still looks great after first year!Lire l'avis complet...
Hewlett Packard hx2415 pda
Battery life on all 2400 series iPAQs is not the greatest. Just get an extra battery so you dont have to worry about it. Dont get one of these wet or they will self-destruct. I had a 2495 that got wet and we put it in rice for three days...it came back on and then promptly died for good. Recommend an AquaPac if you are using outdoors in the rain. Other than that they have typical good hp build quality. Havent tried the WiFi hook-up capability as I run it through my laptop. It did not come with windows mobile 5. it came with 3. something. I can't update it to use it as Windows no longer supports upgrades to Widows mobil

Love this unit, use 2 of them every day
with pdf files using the touch screen to read is really great, also use e-sword for Bible comparisons, very, very user friendly
Awesome PDA - VOIP Capable!
The Hx2415 is powerful enough to upgrade to Windows Mobile 2005.
(It comes with Pocket PC 2003)
The wifi was my favorite feature, and i used it to diagnose wifi problems.
The wifi is also powerful enough to run a VOIP client for free phone calls.
There are many programs available for it, and it's quite easy to write your own, with a little knowledge of visual basic.
The cradle / synchronizing feature is nearly perfect, using activesync from microsoft.
Bootup time took maybe 10 seconds at most, and the OEM battery was fully charged in approx 1 hour on the cradle.
I just sold my 3 Hx2415's (i was writing apps for a client) and hope to get a newer model soon for myself, with cellphone service.Lire l'avis complet...
Excellent PDA for a bargain price
This Hewlett-Packard iPAQ has all the things that I need for Audible books, music, Bible software, e-mail and web browsing, at a bargain price. Why spend hundreds of dollars more to get only marginally better results. Even though this isn't the current generation, you can download from HP several patches and upgrades that enable you to use it with the current (version 11) of Windows Media Player.Lire l'avis complet...
