Upgraded my stock tuners on my Breedlove Acoustic.
Couldn’t be happier. They were a direct fit, and required no modification to the guitar. Big upgrade on that guitar. It took me about 30 minutes to swap them out. And with the lockers, it was definitely the easiest string change that I have done. I might even like these more than my locking Fender tuners that I have on my Stratocaster. Excellent locking tuners
Bought 2 sets for a 12 string Breedlove solo concert CE. Dropped right in stock holes with no drilling. Makes my life so much easier when changing strings. Not needed but much faster and also better tuning stability. There's a specific technique to stringing with these auto locking tuners as opposed to the screw twist on bottom locking tuners but once you string one, the rest are easy. Read the instructions... Worth every dollar! Ease of string change and keep my guitar in tune
I purchased my second set not so much for ease of string changes (which is EXCELLENT in and of itself) but for tuning stability. These things keep my guitar in tune. Gone is the constant adjustment I was doing before. They simply will not slip and were a direct drop in for my Eart guitar. No drilling was required. There were no ugly holes to plug and cover over. Smooth and accurate.
Popped them in and re-strung my Ibanez AWD-82T, super smooth and immediately and accurately reached and remained in tune. Have other guitars with locking tuners, Sperzel, Fender, PRS, and like these tuners better. Only con is threading the strings into the posts takes a bit of eye strain, wouldn't want to do it in a dark environment.Lire l'avis complet...

mediocre at best
This is the third set of 406C tuners I've tried. They're harder to use than the 500 series, which use the thumbwheel method to lock the string. The 406C tuners require turning the post until it locks, threading the string, and holding it taut while bringing the string up to pitch. While taut there's a piston that's supposed to lock the string. The pre-timing lock NEVER stays put. You have to re-lock it and start again. Sometimes the piston will lock the string without starting over, sometimes not. There's always a couple strings that don't stay in tune unless you re-stretch the string. I routinely stretch them all. Even if the strings are in tune when you stop playing, it will always have a couple out of tune. Grover tuners are usually excellent and these are not. My advice is to get the thumbwheel tuners or go with Grover non-locking tuners. I have those on my Epi Les Paul and when properly string they're pretty reliable. The 406C tuners are better than non-locking tuners, but not that much better. The harder you play, the more you will need some kind of locking tuners. There are better choices.Lire l'avis complet...

Smooth as it gets
