he Green Dragon is not particularly a story of the Vietnam war but of the refugees of every war: Their fear for themselves, their missing family members and friends, and their fear of the unknown culture they are being thrust into. Their hopes and their dreams, also. The story itself is about the easy interaction between the little boy who is looking for his lost mother and the black American cook, and the uneasy interaction between the adults of both nations. The Vietnamese characters are very real in their humanity - good, bad, young, old. The film introduces certain aspects of Vietnamese culture (polygamy - filial devotion) that few Americans are acquainted with. It should be noted that the main Vietnamese actor, Don Duong, upon his return to Vietnam was put under house arrest for 6 months for "embarrassing the Vietnamese people".Lire l'avis complet...

I love Patrick Seayze. It has slot of a room. Not only that,I collect all his movies.

love love love this movie!!

I'm usually against reading movies...not because I hate reading or am illiterate I just prefer to sit back and be entertained. However, I couldn't wait to keep reading the subtitles for this movie. I was born way after the Vietnam war but do have veterans in my family (including my stepdad of 9 years) and its nice to see a movie about the war based on how the refugees in America lived vs just seeing war. The on screen relationship between Forrest and the young boy (sorry can't remeber the name) is quite touching. I bought the movie as a Patrick Swayze lover who collects as may of his works as possible, but after watching I fell in cinema love.Lire l'avis complet...

Green Dragon

This movie is really touching. Makes you stop and think about the war and what people went thru. It will touch your heart. I really enjoyed this movie featuring Patrick Swayze!

THIS IS BASICLY A AVERAGE MOVIE ABOUT THE VIET NAM REFUGES IN A CAMP PENTELTON CAMP. I WAS A LITTLE DISAPPOINTED THAT PATRICK SWAYZE DIDN'T HAVE MORE OF A ROLE IN THE MOVIE.

Great Movie

Great Movie! Take's place post Vietnam war. Really shows how the vietnamese people lived in refugee camps. As a Vietnamese American it really ground myself.
