Upholstery experience is a must!
This looks like a fine product, well-sewn and the right size for my 2013 Prius 2. However, I found three issues actually reupholstering it.
First, it took a bit of research to find out how to remove it from my car (you pull off the back console cover from the rear seat, then force out two black plastic pins to remove it).
Second, it was devilishly difficult to take apart the armrest so I could gain access to the area where the fabric would have to be attached. Toyota did not make it easy, and I'm not sure it will ever be the same after several bent and broken plastic parts - trust me, it is NOT obvious how to get it apart, even after I did so successfully.
Third, with this fabric you will need to do some high-powered stretching & securing to the plastic armrest piece. I'm sure there are upholsterer's techniques for doing so; the original fabric is secured with a number of short staples (shorter than your home stapler uses) and glue. I'm pretty sure even the best glue would not be strong enough to hold this synthetic-leather fabric onto the armrest permanently. Bring this to a professional, or be prepared for a lot learning about upholstering techniques - and make sure you find the right kind of upholsterer's stapler.Lire l'avis complet...

Looks like leather
It almost exactly matches the ivory/beige interior I have in my Lexus GS400. It was about a 1 hour install. I had to use screws and a bunch of glue to hold it in place. Once installed though, it looks original. Don't judge it against the bottom seat cover. That is also new and it's a little lighter colored than everything else.Lire l'avis complet...

Great fit and feel
Armrest fits and feels good. You must remove the old skin before installing this one. The color didn’t match exactly however it looks better than the cracked armrest it replaced.

Staples or adhesive
You need to COMPLETELY attach it to the center console using staples or adhesive.
