Aside from unnecessary plot changes, good characters and period recreation.

For some reason, the BBC creators of this recreation felt necessary to change the plot in its s major features, making the curate some sort of old bachelor. Still, the acting and period recreation is good. I liked especially the sergeant and the housekeeper and Amanda. The curate is a little soft and too much of a dreamboat. The ending of each episode, with the curate speaking and each character reappearing in his story, is affecting, if a little mushy and too nonjudgmental. Anglican curates are not so soft. Total absorption!

So very easy to become totally engrossed in this wonderful British series set in the 1950's! Love the characters, thanks to the amazing abilities of all the actors/actresses to draw you into their lives, loves and challenges. Excellent series; long may it live!Lire l'avis complet...

Grantchester

I saw this series on PBS(Masterpiece Mystery). I loved it and had to have the series on DVD.
If you enjoy British programs I recommend Grantchester. So sad James Norton will be leaving the series.

Grantchester Series 3

Loved this series it reminded me of my home town Oxford, England. The stories and characters were awesome.

Great mystery series....

This series is very entertaining. We have a gentle minister who is involved with crime & murder every time he turns around. Throw in a little romance, and we have a class A mystery series.

Love Granchester

Season 3 ushers in the final episodes that Sidney Chambers remains as Vicar.
Will miss him!
