Grand Theft Auto III is a 2001 open world action-adventure video game developed by DMA Design (now Rockstar North) in the United Kingdom, and published by Rockstar Games. It is the first 3D title in the Grand Theft Auto series. It was released in October 2001 for the PlayStation 2, May 2002 for Windows, in November 2003 for the Xbox and in November 2010 for OS X. It was made available on Steam on January 4, 2008[5] and on the Mac App Store on August 18, 2011. It was released on iOS and Android on December 15, 2011, and on the PlayStation 3 in September 2012. The game is preceded by Grand Theft Auto 2 and succeeded by Grand Theft Auto: Vice City.
GTA III is set in modern Liberty City, a fictional metropolitan city based on New York City. The game follows the story of a criminal named Claude[a] who was betrayed by his girlfriend in a bank heist and begins to work his way up the crime ladder of the city before confronting her. GTA lll is composed of elements from driving games and third-person shooters.
The game's concept and gameplay, coupled with the use of a 3D game engine for the first time in the series, contributed to Grand Theft Auto III's positive reception upon its release; it became 2001's top-selling video game[6] and is cited as a landmark in video games for its far-reaching influence within the industry.[7] GTA III's success was a significant factor in the series' subsequent popularity; as of 2008, five GTA prequels set before events in GTA III have been released, particularly Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories which revisits GTA III's setting just three years prior. GTA III's violent and sexual content has also been the source of public concern and controversy. Very fun open world game!
Great game to have in your GTA collection. The first 3D GTA and has multiple things to do, great story, good decent set of cars on the map/city, good size map to explore, has great characters in the game you run into. Overall still a good game but not much criticism due it was released in 2001. Its successor i still play today time to time is 2002 GTA vice city which added a cool 1980s Miami theme like scarface, had better graphics letting you shoot out car windows and tires,added motorcycles, helicopters, and much more great storyline also. A Must Have for Mature Audiences!
Grand Theft Auto III (GTA III) revolutionized the gaming scene with it's open ended playing style. Basically in GTA III you are dropped in the middle of a large and busy city and allowed to do basically whatever you want. You can steal a car and go cruising around town. You can mug people on the streets. You can go on a rampage and take out all the gang members hanging out in the city park. Plus at any time you can go to a variety of locations and recieve a mission to accomplish. During missions you'll pick up key people and take them to another location, you'll do dirty work for the mob, you'll compete in street races, you'll use bazookas and tanks to take out the police, and commit all manner of mischief and crimes. There's so much to do, see, and explore that you could play this game forever and not find, see, and do everything. This is not a game for childeren, but if you're old enought to handle it, you simply can't exclude this game from your xbox collection.Lire l'avis complet...

Fill good to pop in a disk and kinda relive my childhood with the family for a price that can't be beat anytime i need another vintage game im coming back sorry for the late review
