Grace....watch this

Grace" is the second most disturbing film dealing with pregnancy and motherhood I've seen this year! Where "Inside" was intense and kept you on the edge of your chair for 90 minutes, "Grace" is more disturbing, and has you squirming in your seat for that hour and half.

"Grace" starts off simply with a young couple expecting their first child, they've had trouble conceiving and want the best for their unborn daughter. They are very picky about the medical care she's receiving, switch doctors and finally settling on a mid-wife for prenatal care and delivery. Mom is avoiding red meat, caffeine and taking up the vegan lifestyle. All the new-age, best for baby crap they've been shoveling down expectant mothers' throats for the past decade, these folks are doing. But all of the goes out the window real quick after a car accident seems to kill the baby while still in the womb. The mom heartbroken decides to carry the infant to term and deliver the dead child as if it were stillborn. The only hitch is that the baby isn't dead. The baby is alive.....and hungry.

The movie takes so many twists and turns, and each one progressively more disturbing than the last. Jordan Ladd who is stunning to look at, turns in a top notch performance as the expectant mother who will do anything for her young baby, playing the character as part victim and part nut job perfectly. The rest of the cast do a great job as well. The gore flows pretty freely, and seeing a beautiful little baby girl plopped into some of these scenes will have even the die-hard gore hounds squirming a bit.

Don't go into "Grace" expecting something edge of your seat like "Inside" or corny fun like "It's Alive", "Grace" creates an unsettling tone from the beginning and just keeps chugging forward. At times you want to look away....but you can't!! Even if you don't care for the film, it won't be one you'll forget.Lire l'avis complet...

Downright boring and truely dissapointing.

As I have seen many horror films over the years this one was very predictable. Nothing was scary to me and it had a expensive "B" movie feel to it. From start to finish I kept waiting for that shock moment and it never really came. It was billed as a "truly horrifying film" but sorry, I have seen way scarier movies from Japan. If you scare easy you might find something to cringe about in this offering. As for me I feel like it was a bad purchase and should have rented this before decided to a purchase. Grace (Blu-ray Disc, 2009)

Now this is NOT the kind of baby you would want, but then every mother thinks her baby is just so special and this one is really special. Delivered by a midwife something goes terribly wrong. But this mother will do anything for her baby and she does. This is more along the lines of Steven King or Dean Koontz than a slasher film and it gets more exciting as you finally find out how special this child is. And no it is not Satan's child. But you will love this one if you like children you'll love this. I gave it an A+ for the actors themselves as no one could have pulled this off as they did.Lire l'avis complet...

IT WILL BLOW YOUR SOCKS OFF

This movie is so good. And if you watch it a couple of times and put everything together about the baby it will just blow you away. Not for the lightweights. Great movie. I can't tell you how many times I have watched it. Over 15, I first saw it on one of the pay tv chanels. Like Showtime, I'm not sure witch one and I had to have it. Boring ,dull movie !
