Lawn gnomes are fairly popular garden decorations in Germany as well as other areas in the world. This fantasy story tells the story of 2 of these "creatures" in an amusing but believable style. It's really quite funny but the theme can be applied to other areas. Worth checking out and then pausing to reflect. Nothe that his is the 1995 edition of the book.
