Good Rockin' Tonight: The Legacy of Sun Records - Vario

I bought this cd for Kid Rock's appearance which did not disappoint. He continues to display how talented an artist he is and I would recommend this to any fan of Kid Rock who enjoys listening to anything he puts out to the public.Lire l'avis complet...

From the PBS Feature

Get the DVD as well...pure pleasure!

So much fun to see today's A-List artists pay tribute to songs that inspired them, often with some of the original artists accompanying them. Matchbox 20 actually visits the old Sun Records studio with JERRY LEE LEWIS himself playing piano on their amazing version of "Lonely Weekend". I also love Bob Dylan's rendition of "Red Cadillac and a Black Moustache". And Sheryl Crow KILLS "Who Will the Next Fool Be?" A real treat is Jimmy Page and Robert Plant boppin' to " My Bucket's Got a Hole in It"

Enjoyable & Fun Tribute Album!

I have not had a chance to listen to all of it yet, but I can't wait! I am from outside of Memphis, TN, home of Sun Studios, and have a couple of ties to it, as well as friends who have recorded there, and knew Carl Perkins. I don't know how I missed this before but I would like to quote what's on the back of the CD: "Good Rockin' Tonight, The Legacy of Sun Records" is a musical celebration commemorating the 50th anniversary of the renowned Sun Records. "Good Rockin' Tonight" features new and exciting renditions of classic tunes by Sun Records legends. . . .performed by an array of contemporary superstars that span the spectrum of "Rock & Roll" history. This was released in 2001, along with an accompanying PBS film. (The next item I'll try to find!). Paul McCartney begins with "That's All Right", Johnny Hallyday sings Carl Perkins' "Blue Suede Shoes", while Van Morrison and Carl sing, "Sittin' On Top of the World". Then Eric Clapton and the Impressions sing, "Just Walking in the Rain", while Sheryl Crow sings, "Who Will the Next Fool Be?" So there are tunes by Elvis, Roy Orbison, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, and several others. Just a really fun piece of history to own and enjoy! I ordered from a Seller I've purchased from before, and it was packed extremely well and shipped very fast--one of the best Sellers I have come across on eBay. I have a real passion for music, and enjoy all kinds--this bit of history is a Keeper!Lire l'avis complet...
