This is the best game on PS2 ever.

This is the best Game on Playstation 2 ever. Mind blowing graphics and a beautiful story line tell of how this Greek hero was wronged and sought revenge from the mighty God Of War -- Ares. This game combines thoughtful puzzles and skillful maneuvering with an uncanny ability to quench your deepest brute desires for violence and carnage. As you play this game you are slowly revealed as to how Kratos was deceived and formed into the perfect weapon of the gods. His lust for power drive him to destroy those closest to him and when he realizes it, it is only too late. The plot thickens as you must acquire the skills and dexterity along with several gifts from other gods in order to destroy the very god that gave you your powers and your curses.
This game's sound and graphics are top notch. Whether you are playing with full surround sound or a mono set-up on an old tube T.V. it will not matter; you will be amazed at how Kratos' anger is made to feel as your very own anger and how his desire--lust-- for vengeance transform you to feel Kratos' pain.

Innovative Gameplay = Best Game of All Time

This game delivers it ALL. Where many action/adventure games fail, God of War excels, and then some. Gameplay is innovatively outstanding-- immerse yourself in lavish scenes of ancient Greece all while battling relentless mythical monsters in your quest for redemption. Mini-games utilizing special reaction commands delivers a new fighting experience for the PS2, along with puzzle and strategy gaming elements which require precision and thought.

The intensive, storyline lets players delve into the mind of our protagonist, Kratos. The story, narration, and cinematic movie scenes unfold beautifully throughout the game allowing the player to gradually decipher the mystery of our hero, Kratos. Replay value for this game is excellent! I've personally played this game 3 times in different modes and always find it a fun challenge.

To sum it up, if you were to only play one game in your life, this should be the one. PURE MASTERPIECE.

A Great Game

Lordie, if you do not already know how great this game is then I doubt that reading my review will help you. Go read a real professional review if you want details.

All I can say is that I am real old school. I basically only play Final Fantasy and in general HATE almost every other game that is released. God of War is a cut above almost everything else ever made.

Only problem is that stupid glitch at the end...and nobody in a position of power is talking about it. The game freezes, like, 10 seconds before the ultimate battle is over. It sucks, but, you just shrug your shoulders and start a new game because it is so much fun to play.

Disappointing.never been mailed to me

I am not happy. I have paid for the game several days ago and it still has not been shipped. I would like to know why it has not been shipped.

A PS2 classic.

Game was pretty good. The fights were fun, the puzzles were thought-provoking, the world created by the game devs was immersive.

God Of War - WOW

Besides the graphics (but this can't be helped, the game isn't a newer release), this game is a very good buy. Its somewhat of a button masher, but overall, its a good game. You really need to think some of the puzzles through however, because this game is quite the brain teaser!!! Can't wait to beat this and buy the next one.

NOTE: I would recommend that you have a Slim PS2, or that your PS2 has an upgraded driver and reading software. Where you would find the upgrades or software, I haven't the slightest clue, BUT, God of War is a Dual Layered Disk!!! This means that the original PS2s and lower software versions have some trouble reading the disk! My game skips during some of the Cut Scenes, even though the disk is new and scratchless. But Vacuuming out your PS2 or running a laser cleaner can help.

Budget priced goodness

One of the best playstation 2 games in quite some time. With an storyline to make you want to play. Graphics and gameplay in this game are some of the best the playstation 2 has to offer. God of War is a must have for every gamer's collection.

This isn't madness, this is Sparta!

After having thoroughly enjoyed God of War 2, I was eager to play the prequel and learn the rest of the story. The game play, the story lines, the maddening puzzles; all of it was worth the purchase of the game. A bonus was the accompanying figure that fit in as a perfect addition to my collection of figurines.

If you're a fan of the God of War series and have NOT yet played the original game then I highly suggest picking up the title. God of War keeps the mind and fingers sharp while exploring the puzzle of Pandora's castle atop the back of the exiled Chronos all the while working to gain power to fight the corrupt God of War, Ares, himself. Help Kratos, a cursed Spartan warrior, on his journey of revenge, power, and regaining his memories of how he ended up a slave to the Gods in the first place.Lire l'avis complet...
