GoPro brand batteries are the one and only way to go.

GoPro batteries beat any off brand. They last so much longer.

work excellent, for the hero 5. you may have to update software to use non hero batteries. original hero battery is required to update

Not compatible with GoPro Hero8 as advertised.

It was not at all compatible with the GoPro 8. I charged the battery in the camera, which seemed to go normally, but when I tried to turn the camera on, nothing. Same for the second battery I purchased. The numbers on the battery are different than the one I got with my camera, and it is shaped slightly differently. It's a good battery just still wondering why it went from 100% full charged to 0% over night.

Charged fully once then not charging afterwards. Bought it as a spare battery but regretted it. Next time I will go to best buy.
