I recommend having a supply of rechargeable batteries.
The viewfinder is the LCD screen - it takes some getting used to.
I'm used to having the camera up by my eye and focusing on my subject.
I have a hard time focusing my eyes with the LCD screen.
LCD screen is hard to see in sunlight.
Battery charger is not included.
Overall, a good camera for a beginner like me. Just make sure you have plenty of batteries!

GE A730 digital camera

I like the fact that it takes good pictures, however it lacks in the fact that the shutter speed isnt fast enough for people who might have slightly shaky hands. It also lacks in the fact that there isnt good detail in some pictures taken and things can be fuzzy. It is also good that there are many different picture taking modes on the camera. GE A730 7.0 Megapixel

I was unfamiliar with this brand of camera, but on the lookout for a new one to replace my old Sony, which got run over by a train. This one had the features I was looking for at a very reasonable price and since purchasing it I have found it easy to use and solidly made. Great Camera & Great Pricing

I bought this camera for around $38 and that's including shipping. This camera has 7mp resolution and a pretty big LCD screen. The photos came out crisp and sharp. The camera is a lot better then other brands that sell you a 7mp camera for over $100. Why would you spend that much when you could get this one for a whole lot cheaper. The body shape of the camera is almost like it wraps up in the palm of your hand so it's super easy to take photos with. It has a SD memory card slot which is nice. Because SD memory cards are really cheap, you can pick one up for a couple of dollars, and it's the most commonly used memory card for devices.Lire l'avis complet...

Great camera for work, dependable, quality pics

I had low expectations for this camera because of the price and brand, but it actually turned out to be a great camera so far. At work (as an IT Technician/Low voltage installer) I must take photos in not the brightest areas all the time for proof of work. This camera is dependable (on the portrait setting) to get the lighting just right! I've been through about 5-6 cameras in the last 4 years so I am tired of throwing money at them, the LCD's break, over time the cameras eventually over-expose the pictures (they turn white), the focuser stops working, ending up with blurry pictures, etc. I have only had it 2-3 months but that's longer than some of the cheap digicams (and a couple expensive ones!) have lasted. As far as batteries only use lithiums. I have not had to replace them yet. Great picture, big LCD, dependable, even has a face-finder! Hasn't broken in my toolbag yet, with a generic $2 semi-hardshell camera bag!Lire l'avis complet...

GE A730 is well worth the money

I am not a "camera person". I don't like to take pictures for a couple of reasons.
1. I take horrible pics. People's heads are missing, the pics are blurry, I don't understand why the flash makes red eyes or takes away people's facial features (like noses), and my people look centered in the view finder, but not on the prints.
2. Digital cameras are expensive. I don't want to throw down a couple hundred bucks on something that I cannot use properly (see #1).
3. Cameras are confusing. What is ISO and aperture and shutter speed and why does my camera have all those settings? I don't need the hassle.

So, after buying 2 Argus digital cameras and finding out that a digital camera for less than $20 will not ever work... I gave up. My boyfriend did not - thankfully - and he bought me the A730 in pink. I think he got it in pink because he knows I love the color and he wanted me to actually carry it around.

So for $99.99 we got the camera. For another $20 we got a 2GB SD card. I am looking for a case now.

The camera is great. It has a HUGE LED display screen. I mean HUGE. Even I can see the subject of my photo perfectly in it. It has lots of neat features for photo-phobes like me including:
A stabilizer function. This is great if you are taking pics without a tripod and you tend to be shaky like me.

A face-finder. I thought this was a gimmick. How can it find faces? It really does! It puts a box around the people's faces in the viewfinder and then you can make sure everyone is in the photo and centered.

Idiot-proof "scene selections". I took photos of my daughter in the dark at a corn maze and they came out GREAT. I took photos of my boyfriend in the glaring sun and they came out wonderful. If you are like me and have no idea what settings to use in dim light, bright light, taking sports shots, taking shots of fireworks, landscapes, etc. then these settings will be your saving grace. I love them. Just choose your setting and click away.

The lens zooms out when you turn the camera on and then it retreats AND is covered when you turn the camera off. I have not seen another camera in the "under $300" price range that has a cover for the lens when it is not in use. And it isn't a cap, either. It is a little shutter that automatically opens and closes depending on if the camera is on or off. That way the lens will to get damaged if you have to put the camera in your purse or in your pocket for a second.

Best - the camera has 32MB of internal memory! We forgot the SD card the other day (ok, I forgot the card... not "we") and we were still able to take 25 pictures. We put the setting on 2mp and thought the pics would be sort of junky, but they were very good - much better than I expected. I took a picture of a flower and it was so clear and vivid, it almost looked professional!

Overall, I love this camera. It is easy to use, takes great pictures, and is totally affordable. I'd recommend it to anyone.Lire l'avis complet...

My Camera

I love to take pictures! So I desided I needed a good digital camera. I bought this camera bacause it had 7 megapixels! A good picture. When I first got the camera it worked great! I loved it. Now I've had it for about a month! The screen freezes! I can scroll through the pics I just took and all of a sudden it freezes! I would not recommend this type of camera! Owned one before and loved it until it went kaput! This one rates even better and the cost couldn't be beat.

well what I like about it is that it is small and easy to hook up to the computer to upload photos and the photos are a very clear.
