I would purchase future models of this camera. its great

honestly i love the camera. the picture quality is beautiful, the video quality is well worth the price. im still experimenting with all the different features but so far so good. the only thing i thing could use an upgrade is the zoom function while recording video. it isnt smooth at all. jumps instead of glides in which causes the focus to go in and out during the process. not good for zooming in and out for my music video scenes. but overall i would recommend this camera for any novice looking to start a hobby in photograpy.Lire l'avis complet...

Interesting camera

I was wanting to get something that could more than my phone, such as real zoom. I did not want to pay the price for a full DSLR. This is a good compromise. Being older, it is inexpensive. It takes good pictures and has a fantastic zoom. As a point and shoot it is easy to operate. I like that it has a viewfinder which gives the same view as the larger back LCD. It does have a lot on manual settings. Best to download the manual to make the best use of them. Mine came in good condition and well wrapped. Easy to use, great pictures

Camera is very easy to use - just put the selector in Automatic mode and start shooting, but it also has many features for camera experts who want to control fine details for themselves

Good camera for the price, but not perfect

The best part of this camera is it's price. I was looking for something inexpensive to take abroad that wouldn't kill me if it were damaged or stolen, and this camera was a good buy at $62. The downsides are fairly short battery life- rechargeable are a must for this camera. Video quality is very, very poor, despite the claim of HD. The "optical viewfinder" is really just a teeny screen that you view through an eyepiece, so you can't take a quick look at your frame and decide if an image is worth taking... the camera must be powered up for this to work, of course. I don't think about it, but I frequently will look through my DSLR eyepiece to look for a possible picture, and this camera doesn't allow that. But again, it's very inexpensive and takes pretty good images. Maximum zoom isn't that great, but most shots are wide to mid-zoom, so no problem there.Lire l'avis complet...

Keep it for the Beginners.

As I am an aspiring photographer, this camera is not really good for photography. As a beginner I found a lot of use for it but as I have improved my skills, this camera lacks a lot of what I am looking for in a camera. All the settings are off even after I reset it, the focus is crap, my pictures are blurry or too dark or light. I've adjusted the settings many times and still nothing. It also highlights too much of one color and not enough of another. My little Kodak Easy Share C1450, took way higher quality than this camera. Although I didn't like the camera since I have improved in my photography, I recommend it to beginners. It takes nice pictures on the P (Program) Setting on the Camera. Excellent camera! A lot of bang for your buck!

I'm interested in learning Photography, so I bought this camera to learn the basics about it; so far, everything's just marvelous!
You can set the camera to Manual mode and play with all the settings, or you can set it to Auto and let the camera do the job, either way the features and controls are just great.
The size and weight give you the feeling of a DSLR cam; it's just in the right spot.

If, like me, you're interested in learning the basics of Photography but don't want to spend $500+ for a DSLR just yet, this is the way to go. It's cheap, easy to use, well built and it's got a ton of great features.Lire l'avis complet...

You'll be hard pressed to find a better camera in the same price range!

The Fujifilm Finepix S4200 caught my attention while looking for a new camera. It had a lot of features that I was looking for, the most important being good Zoom capabilities as well as good Macro and Super Macro abilities. It also caught my attention, because of it's much lower price than competing cameras with the same features.

Out of the box, the camera felt really good in my hands. It didn't feel "cheap" like some of the other "low price" cameras that I had looked at. I installed the batteries (another nice feature this camera has, as opposed to having to charge the camera before using it like some other cameras with an internal battery that cannot be easily replaced) and started snapping pictures.

This camera allows the user to use many pre-set settings or to customize your own setting according to your lighting, subject, exposure and other vital scenarios that will allow you to take the perfect picture. This allows the camera to be extremely versatile, much like the more expensive SLR cameras. It also has a very powerful zoom lens (24x) that allows you to get close to your subject without actually "getting close". I found this zoom lens very helpful when taking pictures at a family reunion. It allowed me to get facial expressions and details without getting right in the persons face, something that most people detest, yet expect, when they see someone with a camera!

I've taken hundreds of pictures with this camera since having it delivered. I can honestly say that this camera takes very nice pictures. It allows novice users like myself, to take professional looking photos. Can you take photos with the same quality as a $800 - $1000 camera? Probably not... but the photos will be so close you will still be more than happy with the photos you took with a camera that has a price that is hundreds of dollars less than those expensive cameras.
This camera has way too many features to list here. However, even though there is a plethora of features, they are not confusing and are very easy to use. You do not need an engineering degree to use this camera. It is very user friendly!

Overall, if you are looking for a high quality camera, with great zoom capabilities, a host of features, has the ability to take great photos indoors and outdoors (without giving you an inferiority complex)... This is a very high quality camera, fo a very low price.

I got this camera for my son because he was wanting a camera for the summer, It has many features that one would not expect for the price, and it takes very clear pictures, the zoom can bring distant objects in really close. It is far more superior than my other camera when it comes to features and taking pictures in full flash! I love the camera quality. I can't say I'm completely pleased with the video mic, its not so great and there's a hissing sound when recording HD but other than that, great camera and awesome for the price!Lire l'avis complet...
