Friends- The Complete Series Collection

I bought this series for my daughter who's a huge fan of Friends.

The price was very good.

My only concern was when it came I saw it was from China. I haven't had good luck with games (for nintendo ds), and cds from China. The quality hasn't been good.

I'm going to rate this good, because, and only because I'm not sure how long they will last, going on past "china" experience. Other wise they have been working fine so far and should be rated between excellent and good.

Caveat Emptor

The only thing I can say here is caveat emptor (buyer beware). It seems that a good percentage of these boxed sets, “new” as they may be – are illegal copies of licensed media. I purchased one of these sets, without even considering whether or not they were counterfeit. As it turned out, the dvd’s did not play correctly - skipping, hesitating, or blocking at various points. After inspecting the discs, I discovered anomalies and imperfections in the discs that would not normally exist with a quality, licensed product. The most telling evidence was the word “FRIENPS” (yes, with a P) imprinted in foil, near the center hub opening on the disc - funny, yes… and also very irritating. A bit of online investigation found these sets readily available from Asian distributors. If you’re going to buy any boxed DVD set, ask the seller if it is new, original, LICENSED media, (as opposed to an Asian counterfeit) or you may be in for a bit of a disappointment.Lire l'avis complet...

Beware of FAKE boxes...

Ok well I purchased this Friends complete Series last year around Christmas time and it is definitely a fake. Unfortunately, I didn't know it was until a few months later when I got through the series so it was too late to get covered by ebay and half the discs don't even play or they skip constantly. I love this series, I highly recommend getting it but these are the things I learned to look out for...my box looks very real, but these are the differences I noticed.

The fake box has "Friends, complete series" in front in all white and it is not engraved. The authentic box is taller than the fake and the dots in between the "Friends" on the front are all different colors. The letters on the authentic box are engraved. I am just sharing what I learned because I do not want anyone else getting ripped off by the people selling these fake series. Don't be fooled, the fakes are very very very well made but the discs do not work, the fake also has the pictures on the front but they are basically printed off of a computer and glued on. The real box has them scanned on. My advice would be to go to a store and see how the authentic box looks in person so you are able to compare on ebay.Lire l'avis complet...

Cheap Set with expensive looking box.

This Friends set is actually the individual seasons crammed into tiny cases. They are held in by paper tabs, occasionally two discs per 'sleeve' (if you can call it that). The episode preview (the coffee mug icon) doesn't work on all the discs I have seen so far. There are no identifying marks on the discs to show what season the disc belongs to (but they EXACTLY the same menus set ups as the original season DVDs)

All in all, disappointing. I feel they let down Friends fans. Why cheap out on a great series. The video quality is decent. There are minimum special features, and there is no great incentive to purchase the complete collection as opposed to the individual seasons (except saving a few bucks and some room on the shelf).Lire l'avis complet...

Awesome if you like Friends, Great Price...but

I love the case and the way the DVD's are arranged. Unlike the single season sets, they are catagorized by episode number. Also rather than there being 10 sets, like the single season sets, there are 6 sets, each having a picture of one of the friends on the set. It is pretty cool. The only downside is that there is a large book in the back of the box and that is the only place where the episodes are listed. It makes it kind of hard and a bit of a pain to find the episode you want to watch. But other than that they are great, and I was extremely pleased with the purchase!Lire l'avis complet...

Friends - The Complete Series Collection (2006, DVD)

This was a Christmas gift for my wife. She and I have watched the show from the beginning to the end of their televised run. To this day, she still enjoys watching the reruns on different networks. Of course, doing this meant she would end up watching the reruns out of sinc of the timeline of the original program. The Box Set Series was the perfect gift for her.
The box set also includes of camera footage, bloopers and other scenes that never made it to the television. As well, the packaging included literature of the actors and actress who made the show what it had become. The packaging is beautiful and small enough that it can be incorporated with in you existing DVD Library. I would recommend this to anybody who loves good quality and family oriented television programming.

Friends Collection

I decided to buy this full collection because I am a big fan of Friends. I have learned a lot watching this TV series and laughed as well. The rating for the episodes is Excellent 5/5. The reason why I'm just putting good is because my DVDs were a little scratched even when exchanged, and they were supposed to be new.
Anyway, it is still a great product for all Friends' fans and for others who are looking to watch something different. Although it's kind of hard to find someone who doesn't know about Friends, if you don't know and want to have about 70 hours of fun and laughter, you got to buy this. Good deal, if you know what Friends is and you like it

Good deal, assuming you know what Friends is and you like it
If you do not know Friends or do not like the series, this is not for you (you might want to see some episodes first).
Since you got to this sentence, I assume you do know the series and like it. For you this is a good deal. On top of all the episodes, you get extra material like commentaries for some episodes, reel gags and games to test your memory for negligible details.
Personally, I think the best game is to watch the episodes with your spouse/mates and look for contradictions between episodes (these can be rated from 'unlikely' to 'impossible'). Just make sure you agree on a prize for the winner before you start the game.

Great Show, Friends Complete Collectors Set

Overall quality of the product is not soo good, the manufacturers tried to cut back on costs or something. The idea of the design is good though. cheap materials.
Excellent show though!! I love friends and have finally decided to buy the complete series after a few years of watching. Sooo many laughs!! Wayyyy too many to count. Love it, show is literally the best show that hit tv for me. Anytime is a good time for friends. Drama, COMEDY, and the list goes on...

So far so good

This is the original box set release, in fairly good condition. I’ve only been able to watch a handful of the dvds so far and a couple of episodes skipped, so that’s why I docked a star. Overall a good purchase as this set is hard to come by.Lire l'avis complet...
