great 60's Giant Monster movie

Ok - I know what your thinking "Frankenstein Conquers the World"?? well I bought this for my 11 year old son who is (even at his age) a devoted TOHO film fan (they're the one who created Godzilla) - This is one of their top 5 craziest idea's - Basically right a before the end of world war II the German's send "Frankenstein's" heart to Japan for experimentation along the way it is lost in the Jungle later to be found by a wild boy who eats it. the Heart has been irradiated and the "wild Child" begins to grow (and eat everything in site) great support for Nick Adams (who was also in "monster from Planet x" and the American 50's TV Johnny Yuma) - After the mutated wild child evolves into the oversized Giant Frankenstein - He runs a muck through the Japanese Country side only to run into the equally gigantic and unexplainable monster "Baragon" Giant and Climatic battle ensues - with the eventual demise on Both monsters at the end? and the salvation of Humanity. Lot's of quickly kiche early 60's giant monsters from Japan and mini model special effects here - great rainy day movie .Lire l'avis complet...

One of my #1 favorite films, gr8 dvd.

Okay, this is a forgotten film, but should not have been. Frankenstein Conquers the World (aka Frankenstein vs. Baragon) is what you get when you mix Frankenstein (or his monster at least) into a semi-King Kong story. You know, people arguing over whether or not he should be kept alive, the beauty that calms the beast, (or at least thinks she can) but it's also different because Frankenstein is virtually incapable of dying, and conversely to Kong, starts human-ish, even makes semi-human noises, then turns to uncontrollable monster, complete with monster-like noises. Simply put, this is a film that brings both the people who cried at Kong's death and the people who said, "Kong was just an animal, why cry?" together. Also features two of the best kaiju battle scenes ever! Baragon of Godzilla fame makes his debut here too. "Frankenstein vs Baragon" is the better title, seeing as Franky doesn't do much "conquering of anything." Also I recommend the original Japanese feature over English, though both are available on this 2-disc release. The special features are nothing to write home about, but the film CONQUERS!Lire l'avis complet...

Brilliant! I had heard this was a good film, but I was greatly surprised that this was a GREAT film!

This is the first film in the TOHO Frankenstein two film series of the Frankenstein Monster in Japan. It's fantastic, better than I could have hoped for. Please get the full deluxe edition with the Japanese version, it will help you enjoy this wickedly wild tale! Bravo! ( the 2nd film is "War of the Gargantuans" - Brad Pit's favorite mounter movie )Lire l'avis complet...

Great addition to both the Frankenstein/Godzilla type Movies!

What a great blending of both the Universal Mary Shelly type monster and the Terrific work done by Inoshera Honda's Godzilla Group. Most people don't know that this is even where the Gargantua's came from? Even Baragon fighting Frankenstein what a cool concept. Cool movie when I was a kid, and even cooler as an adult. I really appreciate Godzilla type movies. I remember "Monster Week' when I was a little boy growing up in Detroit, and the whole school would run home to catch Godzilla movies! Guess I never grew out of that. Absolutely love this movie just like the rest. Thanks, Scott in Detroit "Monster Fan"! "Frankenstein Conquers the World" is funny, entertaining, and in my opinion is a classic!!!! They sure don't make em like this anymore...Lire l'avis complet...

Don’t sleep on this underrated classic!

It took me a long time to actually get around to seeing this movie since it is not streaming anywhere, but boy oh boy was it worth the wait! If you loved Nick Adams in Invasion of Astro Monster, you will find him every bit as awesome in this film as well! The rest of the cast is a veritable Who’s Who of classic Toho stock players, and everyone is excellent.

This movie can be considered a prequel to War of the Gargantuas. First appearance of Baragon too I believe. Great action and terrific soundtrack as you might expect. Five stars!

Lost and found

I ordered this film as it's one my favorites.I remember seeing this film when I was 5 years old on WXEX TV 8 in Richmond,VA in 1970. Then saw again in 1978 and tried in vain to find it. It's great I found this in DVD /Blu-Ray format It has both the American and Japanese versions plus extras. This is such a great value !Lire l'avis complet...

Great prequel to War of the Gargantuas

I finally got to see the prequel to War of the Gargantuas which I saw as a kid and was freaked out by the bad one eating a woman and then spitting out her dress, which I am sure inspired Attack on Titan. There was a lot of good locations in the film and great acting. I highly recommend this one to all Kaiju fans.Lire l'avis complet...

All time Toho classic

Are rare gem of a film. I loved the story and voice dubbing was excellent there were no cartoony characters. The fight scenes were really the highlights for this flix.
