Depends on Aquarium Setup

I've been running this heater for about 1 month. Offers 2 ways to install. Takes up a small amount of space. Very easy to read display and control temp setting. I have this installed in a 65 gallon Uniquarium and it fits the small heater compartment of the filtration nicely and still be accessible for adjustments, which is the primary reason I purchased this model. I love the LCD readout for temp and the 3 color code lighting system make it a simple reading with a glance.
What keeps me from making this 5 stars is that it isn't fully submersible. This much wattage is typically better served by having two separate heaters to spread the heating efficiency, but without being fully submersible, this really limits your setup. For me, this works well due to my aquarium style but I have to have it set on 78 to maintain 75. Also, my tank is acrylic which has a large bonded top which covers up most of the top except the access cutouts. I could not put this type of heater inside the tank itself.
Bottom line, quality heater with good setting interface but make sure it works for your setup.Lire l'avis complet...

Excellent Digital Heater!

I have had two Fluval M 300 Watt heaters and wanted to upgrade to the digital model because both models are fully submersible and the numbers on my my M Series started to wear off and was difficult to read. The digital readout gives me peace of mind on what the exact temperature is and I love the color read outs letting me know if it’s to cold, just right, or to hot. Great heater

I love this heater. Always had the ones had to turn the little dial on top to change temp and they never work hard to turn and they stick. Works fine, but needed help

I use this heater in a family room which is kept at 68 degrees. My aquarium is a 55 gal discus tank that needs to be kept at 84 degrees. This heater would only old the temperature at 79 degrees. I had to add another 200 watt heater to the tank to reach the desired temp of 84 degrees. Now the tank is heated to the right temperature and is holding steady. Set it and forget it

Purchased this as a backup. We have a 35 gallon cube tetra tank with live plants on the second floor. The second floor is unheated. The "correct" heater can't keep up with the chill. Popped this one in as an auxiliary heater and the water has been at 78 degrees ever since. We also have a 185 on the fist floor and sport 2 of these heaters. They real do the job.

Modernized heater.

I've been in the aquarium hobby for about 45 years now, and the basic technology behind most of the heaters has remained amazingly consistent. This heater changed that with a design that keeps it away from fish and plants. The best thing, though, is a very readable (from outside the tank, even 5 feet away from the tank!) temperature of the tank and by color codes, the relation to the setting of the heater. Anyone who has had to zero a heater setting in by accessing the heater, tweaking it, waiting for the water to reach that temp, tweaking it...etc..ad infinitum will appreciate this heater!Lire l'avis complet...

Fluval never disappoints

I have a 125 gallon tank and this heater is more than adequate to keep the tank warm during winter. I don’t have the best water flow in my aquarium so I do keep low watt heater on the opposite end. With proper water flow this heat will do the job for you.Lire l'avis complet...

Fluval E series 300 watt

I ordered this for a 36 gallon aquarium. It should be well more than what it actually needed but I subscribe to the idea that it would take less work for this heater to keep the tank at my desired temp this way. The LCD is easy to read and I like it better than any other heater than I’ve had before this one. I did direct the output of my canister filter directly at this heater to keep a good flow going around it. Highly recommended.
