Rugged Meter for the Times

This unit is solidly built with an armored screen as well as a rubberized bumper case. The case also has a foot to prop it up on your bench. It makes for a great bench tool and the only complaint I have is that it does not have an option for a backlight. When working in dimmer light that could be a real handy extra to have. Other wise this DMM is filled with extras like temperature in both Celsius and Fahrenheit and is capable of testing capacitors, diodes, and resistors. The digital reading has excellent response time and the unit has versatility which makes it great for a singular device..

Flakey and poorly designed

I own the Extech 380193 LCR Meter which has worked flawlessly for 10 years and is designed perfectly. The Extech 330 DMM is poorly designed. The Auto Power Off starts beeping after 15 minutes of inactivity and even if you use it after the warning it will still shut off. There is a way to temporarily turn the APO off but once you change modes or turn the unit off you have to set it to APO again which only requires holding down the MODE button while the dial is on the function you want to use. The bail (back stand) is a bit too narrow so it tips over fairly easily but if you lay it down on it's back it does not grip to the bench so it's nearly a two handed operation to turn the dial. The auto ranging function is quite slow as well.
The price is good and it looks like it will last a while but it's just not "user friendly" from my experience.Lire l'avis complet...

better than the cheapo meters.meets my needs for the most part.

its not a fluke,or simpson, but still a nice meter that meets most of my needs.i work on old radios and its great for that.i also use a older analog simpson.and a older digital bench top simpson.i really like the big digits on this extech.this is way better than the cheap meters you find in alot of the stores.Lire l'avis complet...

Decent toolbox meter

This meter is quite compact and has a competitive set of functions. This makes it a good portable meter for a toolbox or tool belt.

Poor viewing screen.

I’ll be returning this item. The screen is terribly reflective. I cannot read it at an angle as it reflects of lights in the shop. It has to be facing me directly. The problem with that is it is not stable and constantly tips over. Lire l'avis complet...
