New design, better support, easy install!
Ordered this item to replace the stock unit that wore out. It was easy to install (if you're mechanically inclined), as long as I didn't rush the process. The spooky part of the install was making sure the engine didn't drop too far once the old mount was removed. I just had to keep an eye on it and work a little fast to mount the new unit. Once all the bolts were finger tightened in place, only then could I use the ratchet and torque wrench to complete the install.
The new unit is an improved design from the factory, which is why the part number had changed. The rubber support around the mount covers more surface area, thus, gives much better support as compared to the old mount. The original mount was a design flaw which the engineers recognized and updated with the new mounts. Much better than original!!
Much better than the original that came on the vehicle. FCI should have replaced it for free.
