If you can find a copy, get it!

My wife wanted a CD copy of this Elvis album so I found one on eBay and I'm glad I did. This is an exceptional collection of songs, some mono and some stereo. Mono versions are very clean and well equalized. The stereo songs are what I would consider the original mix the way it was on the original vinyl, but not as much of a stereo effect as later mixes of some of thee songs would have on, for example, Elvis Numbeer Ones. For example, "Return to Sender" is mostly center-channel though is real stereo here, where later remixes separate the instruments more to right and left as most of us may be used to by now, but either mix is very clean and listenable. There was no reprocessed stereo on any cut in this collection, a welcome relief. This collection shows such a range of Elvis' material and is a good must-have for any Elvis fan, whether you already have his stuff on other CDs or if this is your core part of your collection. If you can find a copy get it, I really don't think you'll be sorry at all. I think it was very well done and I'm glad RCA left it alone in terms of keeping the integrity of the mixes true to its vinyl counterpart, even though in my collection I have better and more updated mixes of many of the songs, but that's my own judgment call. Elvis for your party mix.

It is Elvis songs alright, but they are not high fidelity sound. On some I might even say "not stereo". Otherwise, they are good CD's for a good price.
