Moved the U-Verse box inside the A/V cabinet to shield its IR sensor from the plasma TV (plasma TY's generate a lot of IR, especially when the picture is mostly white).
Using a DS18B20 temperature sensor read by a PICAXE08 chip to turn the fan on when the temperature on top of the cable box exceeds 100F and to turn the fan off when the temperature has dropped 2 degrees. The fan runs about 30 seconds out of 5 minutes.
Fan noise is noticeable but not objectionable.Lire l'avis complet...
