I would HIGHLY recommend this for young boy or girl, my grandson, in the first week he has it played everyday. He also has began making up his own designs. Good product, for teaching circuitry.

Great Toy for Kids of All Ages
Bought this as a birthday gift for my 4 year old grandson. He needs adult supervision with this toy, at this young age, but he was fascinated with all the things he could build and enjoyed it for hours immediately after opening it. Learning tool with fabulous potential to help build great minds!
Bought several of these for my son's 3rd grade classroom...he teaches science and math...perfect choice! The kids are grasping math solutions and science concepts easily AND having much fun in the process! Many laughs! Well made, tons of opportunity for 3rd grade creativity...as well as my 30-something son's creativity! I'm not sure who is enjoying them more!
