Simple minded operation
When I recently bought a new amp, it had no reverb. Being that I have always used reverb on past amps I had to start looking for the right reverb pedal. With so many choices out there to choose from, I opted to find the most simple layout and operation, as well as overall good replication of a true reverb. This pedal fit the bill for me. Doesn't take up a lot of real estate on the pedal board as so many others do. And it only has 3 knobs vs many other pedals that seem to have too many. Operation is so simple and easy to tweak in your favorite sound. I love the PAD section for the ambient space sound. The plate and spring settings can be very convincing for a more true sounding reverb. Overall, I think for the money, you can't go wrong with this pedal. Built like a tank, as all MXR pedals are. Best Reverb Pedal
Best reverb pedal for mono rigs. Can be used in stereo with internal switch. All the patches are very usable and it has easy to see knob settings. No micro text. Only down side is the blue LED will burn a hole in your eye if you aren't careful. Gonna look and see if I can swap out the CLR (resistor) to dim it down a bit. It sounds the best in real use. A Good Pedal Reverb
I only use the Plate and Spring modes regularly, but both are good imitations of these effects, especially when not too deep or with a long decay. The other modes sound very digital and have not been equally useful, though somebody might find them more satisfying than I do.. The included power supply wall wart is quieter for this unit than "one space" daisy chain power supplies, so buyers will probably want to reserve an outlet for this box alone. Mxr Reverb pedal is worth buying two of these things
I was skeptical about buying pedals as I have a line 6 hd500x and have never been into the small pedal rigs like some guitars. However the pad setting on the mxr 300 is worth the pedal alone. That's pretty much the only feature that I use and you can adjust how much of the pad you want into your playing by adjusting the mix knob. As a guitarist who is leading worship and youth groups and Main church services by myself all the time, it is great to have a pad setting to click on at the end of songs or in slower worship settings. I have seriously debating on buying another one just to have on each guitars. This thing worked amazing on acoustic guitar as well with no effects whatsoever just the mxr Reverb pedal straight to the PA system. This is a must-have for any guitarist in my opinion. Good natural warm sounding reverb rivaling or perhaps even better than true spring reverb
Having owned many amps with spring reverb, and a tube driven fender reverb unit, I longed for some reverb, since I had sold all of them. But I wanted to be able to get reverb in any amp without all the NOISE I got from the reissue Fender tube driven unit. But, I didn't want to pay a fortune for a handwired tube driven spring reverb unit.
Having some knowledg of how great the improments have been with digital pedals, decided to take a chance on one, and since I saw good ratings of this pedal and it was on the low end of the price range, I got it. No rerets as the prison tattoo says:) I'm satisfied with the reverb I'm getting with this pedal though it has some other weird effects on some of the settings which I don't find useful. I love this pedal. It is absolutely perfect for what I needed. I have a 65 deluxe reverb reissue with a great spring verb unit. That's my base reverb tone. Great compact reverb pedal
Great pedal. A lot of quality sounds and features in a compact package. Only when switched to trails mode (buffered) the buffer does not seem to be the best one you can get (a bit of high end loss).
