Draw bar good, drawnut marginal

I bought this for one reason only, I needed the left hand threaded drawnut. Much of the MT2 tooling from asia now has 10 mm internal threads rather than the standard 3/8" threads. So I need two complete drawbars if I want to swap them out without having to disassemble them in order to use my one and only drawnut. I couldn't find an individual drawnut for sale, and this complete drawbar is pretty inexpensive so I figured I'd just cannibalize it and put its drawnut on the 10 mm drawbar that I made. Making a drawbar is pretty easy, but I have no experience cutting internal left handed threads on my lathe, so this seemed the simpler solution. The drawbar itself is perfectly adequate, but the drawnut threads were marginal at best. After going after the threads with a hardened pick and wire brushes I made it work, so I now have two complete drawbars, but I'm not impressed with the quality of the internal threading of the drawnut.Lire l'avis complet...
