Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band Goodness!
Do Not Adjust Your Set, a late-sixties BBC TV show, was written by the show's performers, amongst them, a fresh-faced Mr. Eric Idle, a juvenile Mr. Michael Palin, and an impossibly young Mr. Terry Jones. The Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band were featured in each episode and it's utter joy to see their live performances.
The entire show is a bit rough; filmed in black and white and originally intended for children, it's a comedy primer, a Romper Room Laugh-In. Several twists and takes are clearly Monty Pythonesque, and a recurring serial parody, 'Captain Fantastic', was the inspiration for the title of an Elton John album.
Although the box lists Terry Gilliam's animation as a feature of the series, none is present -- a small disappointment. But if you're a fan of the Bonzo Dog Band, as one of the few visual records of them, this DVD is definitely worth owning!Lire l'avis complet...
Excellent collection
For anyone familiar with Monty Python, this is really a great look at early shows. Sure, it is a little "hokey" at times, but look at how far back this material was broadcast.
Do not adjust your set
I love this set. If you like Monte Python's Flying Circus, this is for you. Just simple humor, the likes of which you don't see on the telly anymore.
I highly recommend :)
