A Very Good Comedy

Sarah Jessica Parker (Sex and the City) stars with Hugh Grant (Music and Lyrics), Sam Elliott (Ghost Rider) and Mary Steenburgen (The Open Road) in this Comedy. Hugh Grant and Sarah Jessica Parker are recently separated and heading toward a Divorce until the witness a murder. This sets off a chain of hilarious events that entangle the couple and leaves the view laughing.

This is a good movie that is at times funny and at times the humor misses it's mark. However overall it hits more than it misses and it is well worth watching.

I'm guessing this was supposed to be a romantic comedy, alas there is very little in the way or either romance or comedy here. Hugh Grant and Sarah Jessica Parker play a separated New York couple The Morgans, who witness a murder and get relocated to Wyoming. You see, it's supposed to be funny to see a couple of "Noo Yawkers" stuck in the country. Sadly they don't really use many (IE - any) "fish out of water" scenarios, so that kind of makes the whole relocation process moot. So the movie makers fall back on the old "couple who don't like each other have to live together" plot.

They argue, they get back together, they fight again until finally the hit-man tracks them down and tries to kill them. It's all very predictable and bland. Parker's character is pretty unlikable, Grant tries hard and is charming to a degree, but the material they both have to work with is so awful, it can't be saved by the actors. Worth a look if you have nothing better to watch, or if you are a HUGE Hugh Grant fan (both me and wifey are) otherwise, I would not consider watching this mess of a movie. GREAT FUNNY MOVIE

I gave this 5 stars because of the witty dialogue. Especially from Hugh Grant. I laugh every time I watch it. All the dialogue is wonderful. This movie and Music and Lyrics are from the same person. Each one makes me laugh. They are very funny and witty. I call these "sleeper movies" because they don't get the recognition they deserve.Lire l'avis complet...

I liked how the Morgan's tried everything they could to stay separated and couldn't. I also liked how they helped get the bad guy in the end. Just finished watching this. It to funny how two people can hate each other so much until they have to depend on each other for company. then they reconnect and fall in love all over again.
