reccomended for those who like retro games and speed without frills

This laptop is an older laptop, but it will meet most of your needs. If you are interested in playing very high end games such as Halo or The Sims 3, this isn't for you. It's a fast, reliable, well-built computer. Even faster than my previous 2009 Dell with windows 7. I bought this computer because it's a good price with windows XP, and I like to play retro games easily. If you enjoy playing retro games like The Sims 1, Yoda Stories, Tomb Raider, King's Quest IV, Ceasar II, Sim City, and/or Wolfenstien 3d, you'd love this. Nothing else special is required for you to do these things on Windows XP. It's an old computer, but it works like a dream. The big problem with it is the ease of switching wireless networks. Once you connect to one, you had better be sure that's the one you want to connect to. I have a hard time connecting to any other wireless network with encryption than one after I already connected to an encyrpted network. I haven't tried open networks yet, but I hope it wouldn't be as difficult. So, reccomended for those who like to play retro games, want a lot of speed, reliability, and don't mind not having all the extra frills that Vista and Windows 7 have.Lire l'avis complet...

Lightweight, dependable, afordable & readably available standard laptop.

I do not think that I could get a better price for a laptop computer. I needed a new computer but do not have the funds to go out and buy one at today's prices, so I went to eBay. I limited my search to Dell Latitude's since I have already owned one and was very happy with it. The Dell Latitude that I already own does not have anything wrong with it, but my husband & I were sharing it and we thought it would be nice for each of us to have personal computers. Since I have not used any other brand of laptop I can not offer a comparison, but I have not had any complaints to register. Any time that a repair has been needed or an upgrade has been desired, parts have been extremely easy to locate and prices have been very reasonable. Great laptop! Impressively good quality, and most affordable laptop around.

This is my fourth Dell Latitude D610 computer that I have purchased for my home, because I am extremely pleased with the performance of this laptop and brand quality. I have tried other laptops, but these cannot compare to the Dell Latitude D610. First off, this computer is easy to repair, and replace parts and components, after a spill or damage to the computer. I don't have a degree in computer repair, but with basic instruction videos, I was able to learn how to replace a keyboard, and other fixtures of the computer, due to my own carelessness. If a person is looking for a computer, that is affordable, and reliable. I recommend this brand and model of laptop. I don't have any dislikes however, I prefer the Dell Latitude D610 loaded with Windows XP instead of Windows 7. This is because, I find Windows XP loads much faster, and has better performance. This laptop is probably the best out there if your looking for a refurbished laptop, without spending too much money. And it comes with every feature you could possibly need for browsing the web, word processing, listening to CD's, or playing games, so I can't imagine spending hundreds on a brand new laptop out there, when this Dell Latitude D610 does it all.Lire l'avis complet...

Linux ISO,has less over all securtiy issues,& less problems than Microsoft

Linux ISO ,takes some getting use to.It is not Microsoft.Linux does not have the many problems ,that Microsoft Window ISO,has had.One can run most of the same programs on Linux that Windows SO.The office program,is simple to understand & use.I would recommend it to the young & the older people.Lire l'avis complet...

I bought this notebook for personal use since my son and husband took over my laptop...I do alot of gaming and this little computer holds it's own... hands down. when i opened the box I was pleasantly surprised it looked new, i have seen many refurbished laptops that looked like they had been run over by a truck but not this one!!! you can tell that there was a lot of time and love and energy were invested in this computer!!! I plan on buying my son who is homeschooled one in the very near future.

Great laptop for the price...unless loud keys are your pet peeve.

I can't get my Dell to connect to an external monitor- something about intel and the absence of a video controller that doesn't support dual monitors. Intel doesn't support Windows 7 on this older style laptop and can't fix the problem. The keys are also very loud.

If either of those issues seems like too much of a headache for you, don't bother. It wasn't bad for me. I got over it and everything else is quite charming, particularly for the price.Lire l'avis complet...

A Great XP Unit

This is an older unit, which has been refurbished. It was purchased for a friend who needed something to let her: keep up on her email, do some word processing, do some online shopping, and play a few simple games...Solitaire, Sudoku, jigsaw puzzles, and such. It works great for that. She loves having it, and is happy with all it does for her. When she saves up enough to buy something newer, and more powerful, she will visit this vendor again for her own computer, and will then give this XP unit to her young grandson who will get good use out of it. Dell is a little heavy, but it's well built and sturdy.

It took some time to get use to using the Dell, it's larger and heavier than my Acer Aspire, but I like it. It seems well made and it should last a long time. It has a start button, i'm very happy about that, so far I haven't found anything to complain about. I like it.Lire l'avis complet...

awesome computer great buy

this is a great laptop would buy again, the wireless works great and would be a great laptop for a student it also burn cd and files if you want it.i have three of them and im very happy with this older laptop ,so if you thinking about buying one you should you will be happy.dell d610 does not have alot of problems with them and they last forever almost as long as you take good care of it.just like any laptop if you dont keep it clean of cookies and tempory files and run your disk defrag it will slow down.Lire l'avis complet...
