Interesting Modern Teen Slasher

I've wanted to see this one for quite some time, but didn't get the chance until I bought a copy off Ebay. I was not disappointed with my buy. This film really surprised me. It isn't very often that I find a slasher film, let alone a modern one, that succeeds in stepping outside the box in terms of surrealism. The striking Gothic imagery throughout really helped accent the characters, their unfolding situation and the overall style of the film. The setting oozes atmosphere and the killer rocks a pretty sweet Big Bad Wolf inspired costume. The body count is low, but the film never shied away from the violence...even if the deaths weren't gory. There were only a few things that brought it down. One was how confusing things got toward the end...the surrealism took over and things stopped making sense. The other problem I had was the dubbing in my copy. The film was originally done in French and the English dubbing did not do it justice. All the actors did a great job expression-wise, I just think to would've worked better with their real voices...I gladly would've read through it. Otherwise it was a treat. Deep in the Woods 2000 💀

Deep in the woods is a decent movie a little slow at times but there are some cool kill scenes and some erotic scenes as well.

This isn't too scary. The story is simple in my opinion but can cause you to at times to think ooh. Good if you are between horror lover to horror hater.
