Nice easy to fly drone
I like it. First time drone user and the Mavic is full of easy to use advanced features. I was amazed that after setting the return home feature and flying 200 ft high and 1000 ft from my start point I hit the return home button and the drone returned and landed in the same orientation and within 1/2" from the launch point. Gr8 drone!
Before purchasing, I read many negative comments about purchasing a refurbished drone. However, once I flew my Mavic Pro for the first time, all of my doubts were set aside. I am a phantom 3 4K user that needed to upgrade. This drone ,even referbished, was like going from driving your mom's station wagon to a finely-tuned Supercar. Professional Features and Functions in a light weight and small Aircraft
The DJI Mavic Pro has lived up to all the accolades that I have heard and read about it. Easy to fly right out of the box at a beginners level. A few hours of piloting and some tutorials will enable most owners to pilot this drone with a lot of control and confidence.
I certainly hope that when the Mavic Pro 2 comes out later this year that DJI does something to better protect the camera/gimble. Those are the most costly and delicate components on the aircraft and the first to need repair if the aircraft crashes. Rear obstacle avoidance should be added as well to protect the drone when flying backward.
With all that said, I can't wait to take it up one more time! Its a wonderful past time that enables you to enjoy both flying and Cinematography. I love to edit together many of the 4k video recordings I have shot of mountains, lakes, oceans, and sunsets. Then add some great music, sit back and truly enjoy watching the videos over and over again that this high tech marvel can capture.Lire l'avis complet...

Great product factory app sucks
The drone itself is fantastic. The DJI App isn’t worth even downloading. Use the Litchi app, much more features and functions, and WAAAAAY more dependable. Tried calling DJI customer support, they said they were having problems with the new iOS and their software app, and recommended I “go get an android device until they could get their software issue fixed.” I was so POd after that statement I almost sent the drone back. Greatest fun money can buy!
Simply amazing what the mavic pro can do! Folds up to fit in my camera case, & with features I'm still learning 10 days after receiving it like tracking, spot light & camera gimbal settings etc., got a slight learning curve but it's a very stable drone! You're not at all fighting with it to keep it airborne at all and with return to home if signal is lost, gives you some of mind! Way more fun to fly than 3dr solo.
My first drone was the 3dr solo. I still have it and it fly's great. I wanted something more portable and something still supported by it's manufacturer since the 3dr hasn't been touched since 2015. Now that the DJI Mavic Pro 2 is out, the Mavic Pro can be had for a reasonable price. It's a fantastic drone with a great camera and very fun flight characteristics. Excellent machine!
This thing is amazing! I had been looking for a "deal" on these Mavic Pro drones and this has been the best deal I have ever seen on them. It says refurbished but it comes in all the genuine packaging and everything is brand new. You can't tell in any way that it is not brand new! It doesn't come with some extras like an extra battery or lens filters like some of the other packages do but it does have everything there including and extra set of blades. I have had this thing all around my little country town and up on some hill areas around the property where I live and this Mavic pro has done some amazing video and pictures that has come in really handy! I love this machine and recommend it to anyone wanting to some more of the serious and extremely capable drones to start learning but not spend several thousand to do so. This Mavic is extremely easy to fly and if you just pay attention a little bit and take it slow from the get go to get a good feel for it, a person with little or no experience can really learn how to run this drone with ease! It's an extremely nice machine with great capabilities and lots of room to expand! If you are serious about getting into drones, this is the one to go with. Refurbished? Don't be concerned.
Mavic Pro: It took me awhile to pull the trigger on this purchase because I've always been a little leary of something "refurbished"
I read all the reviews and it was overwhelmingly positive.
If your like me then I'll tell you....just buy it!
It was in pristine condition and all appearances were....it's brand new.
Please go to youtube and watch every video you can find on the mavic pro. Here are some of the best: 51 drones...flytpath...drone valley....ed ricker....captain drone...film poets....there are many more.
This is a very complex aircraft but a beginner can learn fairly quickly by watching the videos. Just don't think your going to be making the beautiful drone videos right out of the box...it takes awhile. Learn to fly first....then worry about the camera. If you have an rc background that will help. If you fly rc helicopters you will have no trouble adjusting to this quadcopter.
Another tip: you MUST register this with the FAA as you will be flying in airspace governed by them.....and yes you must even if you are just going to fly it for fun! It's only 5 bucks and can save you thousands in fines. If your going to shoot video for youtube you must get your commercial license to do that.....even if your channel is NOT monetized. The FAA website is easy to find....just Google it....and follow the instructions.
Extras are a must: number one...more batteries...landing pad....extra props...prop guards...and lots more...watch the videos.
You will need a newer phone (this is how you see all the telemetry of the drone as well as what the camera sees) and an iPhone is best but android will work but can be glitchy. By newer I mean no older than 2/3 years old. There is a list of compatible phones...Google it...and see if yours is on it. Also a tablet is the best...again ipad is best....you will have to buy an additional holder for it...bout 30 bucks...but it is WELL worth it to use a bigger screen than a little phone.
Another must have is a case to protect your valuable drone. They come in prices from 30 to 150 bucks...just get what you can afford.
This may be the biggest tip of all: Do NOT....Don't even THINK about it...fly it indoors...no matter how bad you want to...just get it up....DONT DO IT!!! Fly outside in the biggest....openest field you can find...and leave it in Beginner mode. You can thank me later!
Always check for updates BEFORE you head out to fly....you could use a whole battery updating depending on the size of the update.
Another tip: if your waiting for good weather and you just want to do something with your brand new shiny drone....play with the camera....learn how to use it. Set it up inside in different rooms....set it up looking outside and play with the settings until you can do it in your sleep. This will cut down your learning curve between flying and camera operator.
