If you are looking for a lightweight reliable drill combo set then this one will certainly fit your needs. I bought this for light in shop work that I sometimes need to accomplish and wanted a drill with a bit smaller profile to fit into the hard to access spaces. I normally use the 20 volt system for my normal jobs as it has all the power and torque you need to get through the toughest materials and drive home some of the tougher screws and bolts. Excellent drill for Handymen, remodelers and professional contractors.

This is a superb tool comparing it to the previous models of DeWalt as well as comparing it to 12 volt lithium ion tools from Milwaukee and Makita. The drill is 3 xs lighter than a previous 12 volt DeWalt drill widely used by many professionals. A torque, power and handling of he drill is incomparable to Makita or Milwaukee drills in the same class. It has a lot more power than Makita, battery can be used to stand the tool on an even surface to avoid scratches or dirt to keep the tool in a good shape for a long time. Sliding battery design is a lot more user friendly than a clip designed that at times becomes difficult to remove a battery from a drill housing. A handle is rubberized to reduce a wear and tear on your skin if handling the tool stretches for an entire work day. Fantastic tool set

I can't say enough good things about this set of tools. I never owned an impact driver before and I can't believe how great it works. I used the impact driver all day driving screws into a new deck and at the end of the day there was no sign of loss of power. It is also very light compared to my old 14v cordless drill (also a DeWalt). AWESOME SET - I'VE GOT 5+ SETS I USE PROFESSIONALLY!!!

I'm a professional contractor who owns excavation, general contracting, and furniture / cabinet / carpentry businesses. Furniture and remodeling are most of my work, and I've been buying these two tool sets for at least 10 years now, and I've probably bought a dozen and own at least 5 right now! I research my tools very carefully, especially drills/drivers and impact guns since these get more use than any tool except my tape and pencil. You get more torque than any 12V model on the market (plenty to drive 4" deck screws into pressure treat even with the driver, not the impact gun!), better battery life, faster charging, less weight, smaller and more comfortable/ergonomic (and well balanced without feeling like a toy like some smaller ones do), and it just plain beats anything else hands down. I've tried other brands when I find one on clearance or a great sale, and every one was returned or sold on eBay or Craigslist. My only problem ever was a reconditioned battery that would only take enough charge to drive a dozen screws, but a quick trip to a local pro tool factory store and they gave me a new battery right away without even a receipt. The one reviewer that said to forget this and get the 18v obviously had no idea what he was talking about since the tools have almost the same exact torque/power. Lightweight workhorses

As a locksmith I still use the heavier 18 volt units for the heavy duty jobs such as drilling doors for dead bolts etc. Nine out of ten jobs can be done with these guys. They kick butt and are much easier on my worn out 66 year old wrists. They work so well, I now have two sets in my work van and they are my go to drill and impact. Sooo good, I had to buy another set!!

I am a retired building contractor and purchased my first set of these about 8 or so years ago. They still work great! I got so used to using these in my shop since retiring that I had to have another set for assembling my small projects for the grand children. 12v combo

Has the Dewalt power and for a 12V combo this is nice. Comes with two tools and two batteries. It is a steal at the price.

the best investment yet

I bought this dewalt drill combo because i needed a small light weight drill and impact to work on cars. In my job i have to work under the dash of cars with little to no room to work with. This 3/8 drill - 1/4 impact is a great product with lots of power and a small compact body. The both of them have great battery span's.
