Fun to a point...

It's a fun game to play with a nice plot & graphics but the kicker is unless you pay for a subscription...you're severely shorted of its full potential. In what could be seen as a major step against the selling of used games by Sony Online Entertainment, it turns out that copies of the PS3 MMORPG DC universe Online are locked to just a single PSN account. SOE has made it so that “Once the PSN key has been consumed with a disk, it cannot be resold / replayed with the second user adding a [subscription]“, a SOE representative told Lazygamer. “Only the original consumer can use that [account]“. There is currently no system in place to offer activiation codes for consumers who bought a second-hand copy.

awesome game, endless amount of playing, Great value for you money!!

This game is awesome and its free (digital copy via PSN i prefer have the physical copy) . I've always wanted to play this but you had to pay a monthly subscription. Now it is FREE TO PLAY! This game looks great, it exceeded my expectations on the ps3. There is enough content on here to keep you busy for months due to the ridiculous amount of content that has been released over the two years of the games life, and they are still adding more DLC! If you read DC comics you will be in nerd heaven with the amount of fan service they have fit into this game. BUY and PLAY NOW! Perfect

This is one of those console defining titles, a title that makes you glad to own a PS3. This is a MMO, but the combat is very satisfying. The creation system is good enough to give you various creations but a little more freedom in really changing your characters every little detail would've put it over the top. The xp system and powers are great and there are literally thousands of ways to make them evolve and mix them up. you can play with your friends online and even create and join your own leagues. The great thing is that in pure MMO fashion there are always downloads for the game and there will be even more great additions to come. This game is free to play now and the only drawback is sometimes it can freeze which isn't that common for me and the ridiculously long 16 hour initial download. GREAT GAME SUPERHEROES COMING TOGETHER IS GREAT

If you've never played a massively multiplayer online game before, DC Universe Online is a good place to start. This isn't just because of the DC Comics license, though that might be what first draws you to this light and breezy take on the genre. After all, this is your chance to take to the skies above Metropolis like Superman or skulk in Gotham City's shadows like Batman himself. But it's the way DCUO mixes action-game sensibilities with traditional role-playing progression that makes it immediately enjoyable. If you're a seasoned role-player you'll find it refreshing as well--but only to a point. The speedy level progression and focus on all combat, all the time might prove tedious if you're someone who enjoys exploring new worlds for the thrill of mystery and discovery. The largely instanced, repeatable endgame content is fun, but it's not inviting enough to make it worth paying a monthly fee for it. But even if it doesn't provide enough new content to sustain you beyond a couple of weeks, DC Universe Online is generally entertaining, and comic book fans will be happy that the license was handled with care.Lire l'avis complet...

New to MMO?

I bought this as a gift for my husband for his birthday. He has never been into the MMO stuff (like WOW, etc.), but he really likes all things DC Comics, so I thought I would take a leap of faith and let him try DCUO for a month to see if he could get into it. He loves it! He can't stop playing it. He has created a super hero who can fly and has fire power and he plans on creating a super villain after he is finished with the main "plot." So far, he gives this game two thumbs up. One downside is (for obvious reasons) you cannot pause the game. My husband is used to single-player and he is trying to get used to co-opting with other players in cyberspace. I would say, if you are a DC Comics fan, but aren't sure about the mass-multiplayer thing, give this a try!Lire l'avis complet...

DC Universe Online PS3 - IT"S A SUBSCRIPTION GAME!

To all those people who say you cannot buy this game used you are WAY misinformed.
Please look at www.dcuniversonline.com, this is a subscription game, you have to purchase at least a months subscription which issues you an activation code through Playstation Network.
This applies to new and used games. A new game gives you a 30day trial activation period after which you have to buy the subscription.
Like anything you buy you should do your research on the product you are buying before you buy it. More sellers are not accepting returns for this game on ebay for the specific reason that it is a subscription game. If you buy this game used and you don't like it, take it to Gamestop or any other retailer, they will tell you the same thing.Lire l'avis complet...

Great fun

DCU offers the chance to step into the shoes of your favorite hero, or make your own. The character customization is top notch and if you're creative you can get some great looking characters. The world is large and expansive and flying around Metropolis or hopping roofs in Gotham has never been any better. Combat is fast and fluid, transitioning from fast movement to combat seamlessly.
