Just "OK" 4 cup coffee maker

Bought as replacement for a Braun 4 cup coffee maker which is no longer available.

The Good: The Cuisnart 4 cup coffee maker brews quickly and is the perfect size for one or two cups of coffee. The lid works in such a way as it will not break as easily as the Braun did (on multiple occasions). The stainless steel pot reduces worrry about breakage.

The Bad: You need filters for the coffee maker and it does not come with them. I use a plastic and mesh Braun filter with mine rather than buying paper filters on a regular basis. My biggest complaint is cleaning it. The plastic rim around the top of the pot retains water so drying require using a towel unless you're okay with water dripping down the inside of the pot after everything else has dried. You also need to remove the internal filter holder and wash it as well as the drying the mechanism which holds the water for brewing as the steam generated moistens the entire inside are of the brewing machine. Handy Everyday Coffee Maker

This coffee maker has two very good features that I wanted in a coffee maker. There is a stainless steel pot and and automatic shut off timer at 30 minutes. The stainless steel pot won't shatter if dropped and if you forget to turn the brewer off after you have left for the office in the morning, there is no need to worry as the automatic shut off kicks in.

The brew temperature is perfect and the brew time is just right. One bad feature is the shape of the coffee brew pot. With a flat top and short handle, one must be careful when pouring as the hot vapors from the brewed coffee will encompass the hand and could cause a burn if you are not careful.

Otherwise, this is a great deal for the cost, the flavor of the brewed coffee is consistent, and cleaning and set up take little effort. I would recommend this to anyone only wishing to brew coffee (max 4 cups) for single use.Lire l'avis complet...

Great coffee maker for two regular cups or one large mug of coffee!

I bought this coffee maker to replace one just like it that actually still works and have used for about five years. I fine grind my own coffee and the cone filters work the best for a fine grind. I use it three times a day filled to the three cup line which makes about 18oz. of coffee. I have read reviews that complained about spilling, leakage, automatic shut-off after 1/2 hr, and the brew-stop feature, and the lid not opening far enough. So far after 2 months no trouble with this one. Now about my old one. First of all, the tops does open far enough to allow pouring easily into the well. The pot has a tab on the lid to put your thumb on to keep it in place while pouring. The brew-stop feature worked ok. I broke the tab on the maker lid while trying to clean it, but used a paperclip to do the job. Eventually the rubber gasket on the pot came loose and did start to leak. I pryed it open as much as I could and used latex sealant to keep it in place. The coffe never touched the sealant and I could not detect any taste in the coffee. I'm not cheap, just a problem solver. It did not laek after that. It takes about 7 minutes to brew a full pot and will shut off about 20 min. after that. As with my new one, coffee temp measured with my digital meat thermometer was always around 175-178 degrees. Plenty hot for me. I drink the coffe made within the shut-off time of 1/2 hr anyhow so for me it is always hot. I only bought this new one because of the price on-line and did not want to wait until it did break and the have to go without for a week. I cleaned the old one and put it in my pantry in case I do need it. In all, this is a great coffee maker for the way I brew and drink my coffee. FLIMSY PLASTIC PARTS ~ BUILT TO FALL APART

What good is a durable (stainless steel) pot without a durable coffee maker to go along with it? I should have known this coffee maker wasn't going to hold up after I had to return the (same model) first coffee maker after the first time I used it. The "sneak a cup" feature on this first one didn't work. This was due to the fact that one of the flimsy little spokes around the dome shape in the middle of the lid was cracked when I bought it. Now, only 6 months later, the cheesy little plastic lever that slides along the lid when you open and close it broke off so I have to manually lift the spray arm to access the basket. I went to cuisinart.com for parts and they only offer a carafe, basket or lid. I knew from day one that I had to be careful using this machine and always have been, so I know it didn't fall apart from being abused.Lire l'avis complet...

coffee maker is ok

i like this 4 cup coffee maker because it has easy to read water markings to make 1, 2, 3 or 4 cups of coffee at the time. the coffee is always good. no guessing. i've even used my senseo coffee pods in it and it is good! the one thing i don't like is that the aluminum/stainless (whichever it is) pot doesn't keep any coffee left in it hot for very long. i thought the metal would be more conductive for the heat retention, but it's not. otherwise, it's great.Lire l'avis complet...

Carafe for Cuisinart 4-cup Coffee Maker

I had put my original carafe on the stove top to warm a small amount of water. The heat caused the plastic spout to melt. Otherwise, I would say that this carafe is very sturdy and well designed.

Nice and Compact but I'm Disappointed!

I watched this particular Cuisinart coffee maker for quite some time. I like the face that it is not make of glass. I like how compact the coffee maker is. It's easy to use and I like that fact that it will shut itself off after 30 minutes, instead of the two hours some coffee makers stay on before shutting off. I do not like the fact that there is no water gage on the outside of the coffee maker. It is on the inside, down where you pour your water. The number of cups of water are measured by little square gray pegs like steps numbered 1-4. Not very easy to see either. I also do not like the fact that the top of the pot does not have a hinged lid on it. The first time I used the pot, I went to pour a cup of coffee and the top came off into my cup. When dealing with hot liquids this is not something anyone should have to deal with. Knowing what I know now, I would not purchase this coffee maker.Lire l'avis complet...

So far, so good.

So far, so good. Ive owned this product for about a month and so far, have not had any issues. First, it is the perfect size as I am the only person in my household that drinks coffee, and I usually do not drink over 1 or 2 cups in a day. I really like the stainless steel pot instead of glass because you do not have to worry about it breaking. Also, the auto shut-off feature gives more peace of mind and you do not have to worry about whether or not you turned it off. I give this product a 5 out of 5 stars.Lire l'avis complet...

USED DAILY WITH NO PROBLEMS

Brew time seems to be a little long - but I still love my little coffee pot, I use it every morning. Makes just the right amount for a cup home and one to have for the trip to work. The automatic shut-off is great no running back home to turn off the coffee maker. Takes very little room on the counter so having it out all the time is no problem Makes good coffee.
