BEST coffeemaker & tea maker

Relatively compact and efficient. Excellent programming, easy to use and inc safety feature to prevent scalding from "tea" side. Great capacity for tea or coffee and runs concurrently if desired.
REGARDLESS of minor inefficiency, this is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!
Only negative is that like MOST coffee makers, the water refill lid drains directly into the clean water chamber so over time some coffee residue may affect flavor if not cleaned. (Paper towel wrapped around a chopstick is decent remedy for rare need to clean) I don't know why these company's can't change that design feature.

Hot Coffee now!

This coffee pot is exactly what you need if you miss hot coffee! We have gone through every brand and find that the coffee is never hot enough to melt the powdered coffee creamer. We even resorted to grabbing our camping percolator we use over the open fire to make hot coffee in our kitchen on our electric stovetop! When that became inconvenient we went to the big box store and spent $39.99 on an electric percolator. What a disappointment, the coffee was more like a luke warm beverage than it was coffee! The price point on this model was spot on and worth taking a chance on since all the reviews show it has the hottest coffee around and the store put it out of our price point. We have had great success with other factory reconditioned products and this one does not disappoint! Lots of other features make this model function better than other models. The lid on the carafe stays closed when pouring, only allowing coffee to exit the spout; just another nice feature this model has. The hot water dispenser is great when we just want a cup of tea or cocoa and isn't something we needed in a coffee maker; but now we wouldn't want to live without it! Best value and hot coffee around!Lire l'avis complet...

Classic coffee brewer and hot water bonus

This is the fourth Cuisinart coffeemaker I've purchased over my coffee career. The others had been Grind and Brew models, and I was used to the many pieces and parts required to get them humming. This one is deceptively simple to use, to clean and to enjoy well-balanced coffee. It has the ability for the user to choose the carafe temperature, as well as a 1-4 cup brew feature that heats more rapidly, although it slows the brewing a little. The time between brew and automatic shutoff is also programmable to between 1 and 4 hours.

The programming automatic brew feature is intuitively easy to use, and it can be overridden by turning the "auto on" setting to "brew". The indirect blue light feature which indicates which features are on and active is helpful. The machine brews 12 5 oz cups. Because the brew time for a full carafe is approximately 8 minutes, when serving to a group, I brew a 10 cup pot prior to serving and pour it into a spare Cuisinart 10 cup thermal carafe and then brew a full pot. I haven't explored whether that thermal carafe would work with this model, but visually it appears to fit and trigger the unit to drip into it. Caveat emptor on that.

The hot water feature is also very easy to use. Both the coffee and hot water sides have easy pour in reservoirs with clearly visible max fill marks. Both reservoirs also have easy to insert filter pods. I use those and filtered water, and I do not find any off flavors in the coffee or hot water. The water brews just slightly longer than a keurig style machine, and it is consistently hot. There is a removable drip plate so that tall travel cups fit. The press down lever is large and easy to use (especially helpful in a pre-caffeinated fog).

I purchased a refurbished machine, and to my eye and taste, it is well worth the value. I like this machine so much that I finally relinquished my older Grind and Brew machine as well as a lovely tea maker machine since this one performs so well. I recommend this model without reservation.

Pot Lid Prone to spillage when pouring

This is my second Cuisinart not the same Model but the same style and I enjoyed my first one so much that when it failed I bought this one to replace the old. I am having a problem with pouring from the pot without spilling. You have to pour slower than I like or it puddles on the counter top. Other than this problem so far so good!Lire l'avis complet...

Great product

This is the 2nd coffee maker of this brand I have had. The 1st one failed after 2 yrs of daily use. My experience is that if something does a good job but fails after a lengthy use, replace it with the same type & move on. Lire l'avis complet...

I will use this machine until it dies but I will not buy another one.

I debated on purchasing this coffee maker or a BUNN. I bought this one because it included the side for hot water. The machine takes up less counter space that having a coffee maker and a separate electric hot water kettle. However, I really dislike this machine more than I like it.

Having the hot water option is a nice feature but it does not heat all of the water at once. If multiple people want to enjoy a cup of cocoa or tea, they have to wait in between filling each of their cups for the water to heat up. I'm sure we will break out the electric hot water kettle this winter.

The machine has to be pulled out from underneath the cabinet to be filled. With the rubber feet on the bottom, it was difficult to move - skipping across the counter. Extremely annoying. I put stick on felt on the feet so when I have to move it each night, it glides across the counter.

The area in which you have to pour the water in the coffee side is quite small. I use a small funnel to fill it otherwise water gets all over the place. Water also tends to run down the carafe when pouring into the machine. Again, why I use the funnel. The funnel fits nicely on top of the drip plate on the hot water side.

While the buttons and knobs take some getting used to, I have used far simpler machines. I guess I am used to push buttons or no buttons at all(as with a BUNN) rather than the turn knob. Probably just a personal preference on this one.

The option to have the heating element at different temperatures is a good feature. I keep it on "M" and the coffee is plenty hot.

I drink coffee primarily in the morning and occasionally in the evening. I like using the timer feature so my coffee is already brewed when I wake up. In the evenings, it doesn't take long at all to brew.

I do have to say that I have not noticed any odors coming from the hot water side as mentioned in other reviews. Nor have I experienced the machine leaking water as mentioned in other reviews. The instructions do tell you to empty the water out if it will not be used within a certain amount of time. There is a drain plug on the bottom of the machine to drain the water. Perhaps the drain plug was loose and that is why the water was leaking out of the other machines?

This machine is far better than the horrible, horrible Mr. Coffee machine I used for a while but I guess I still prefer a BUNN. The BUNN does not have to be moved out from underneath the counter, has a large area to pour the water in and the coffee is ready in less than 3 minutes. I could forgo the timer feature for coffee in 3 minutes.

I will use this machine until it dies because that is what I do but I will not buy another one. I will go with a BUNN.

First Cuisinart Coffee Maker

Love this! The hot water side holds a full 12 cups. You need to run a couple of pots of water through it to eliminate the plastic taste. And the hot water side does make noise as it keeps the water hot but no more noise than brewing a pot of coffee, and it is not constant.
This machine is fantastic! It makes great coffee. I switched from Mr.Coffee so had to buy #4 cone filters but they even included 3 filters to get you started! Brews a pot in 10 minutes.
I love all the programmable features.
It has been a few weeks and I still love it.

Great coffee machine, but to fill it is a whole 'nother story.

Received the unit from the seller, which came quickly, and was packaged securely. After making several pots of coffee, I have come to the conclusion that this is the most awful machine to FILL with water that I have ever experienced. It makes a great cup/pot of coffee, but the fill is in the back behind the carafe on the right. I have taken to using a Ltr water bottle, and a 20 oz one, that will give us a full 10 cup pot. When filling with the carafe, you spill water all over the coffee holder. I have this unit not on a counter, so its easily for me to turn the whole unit sideways, but the filler flap only opens to the back, as the hinges are on the back, and not on the side, which would allow the carafe to fill the water tank (in the middle of the machine) and then let it brew. If its on your counter, forget it, it will not be easy for you to fill, and you will soon learn to despise the coffee maker just for this feature. Otherwise, its a great machine, but I think it will soon be relegated back to the box and into the attic, ready for the next yard sale. If you doubt me, just spend $50. for it and you tell me how YOU like it. I even bought Ltr water bottles, just to fill it, and that works, after it is turned sideways, but today I spilled water all over the inside of the unit--again, and I realized that this item is going to be soon replaced.
Give me a good old Mr. Coffee or a similar cheapo machine anytime. Never thought about the fill spot, as the others are just too easy, and this one should be too, but its W A Y off.

Great coffee pot

Not sure why my answers changed to no
They should all be yes. This is a great coffee pot. I chose this over a bunn. Easy to use.
Brews fast. Love the timer. And my husband loves the hot water feature.Lire l'avis complet...
